And even then there’s no telling really. I think we all thought Lawrence would be an absolute home run and he’s been extremely average so far. Not to say he won’t become elite but the trajectory doesn’t put him there currently. It’s just simply the hardest position to assess.

It always is,until they actually play the season out and reality sets in. That's why you have to have good scouts and especially a great qb coach that can make chicken salad out of chicken sh*t. Without those 2 things you get a revolving door at the qb position like we've experienced thus far.

They say this garbage every year. Two years ago this was going to be a generational draft for QB’s. You have to take a shot at a franchise guy if you don’t have one. They said Cam was too big of a risk also, Allen was a huge risk, Mahomes was a risk, Lamar wasn’t even considered a worthy 1st round pick etc

Deals like that should be taken and not given. They fugged up and there is no way around it once the 2nd was thrown in. I get 2 future first being hard to swallow but that was a deal they wouldn't have to justify to anyone. Again, if they are not good enough to use that kind of capital well having Burns here won't change our fate.

Lawrence had the misfortune of landing with the Jags at the worst possible time. He was without a doubt the best qb in his draft. But that doesn't guarantee success for him or even the team that selected him. It comes down to who's developing him to play the position and how he handles the role he's been put in. He's been set back in his development there's no doubt about that.
