So Carolina turned down 3 first round picks and 1 second round pick for Burns/Moore?!?

The issue isn’t trading away what would be a talented player, it’s paying a talented player a big contract on a timeline for us to not be good. I don’t mind paying someone with everything lined up, and draft picks are how you get lined up.

Trading or not trading Burns or Moore makes little difference today. We could have already had our young franchise QB in place if we weren't thinking we were playing 4D chess using a top 10 pick on a corner and passing on a QB the year after an all defense draft. It's been just one self inflicted wound to another as a Panthers fan. This is just more of the same.

As I said in another thread, this is what bad front offices do.  There is no way you don’t make that trade.  Mr. Scott mentioned earlier that they were running the opposite side of Burns, that’s fine but that’s also the point, there are no complimentary pieces, it does no good to have one All Star, which he isn’t, and the rest are plebs.  We are way more than a few pieces away and draft picks would have lets us acquire more potential in all positions.

This is what you call a conflict of interest. Those (future picks) could be used by a different GM in the future because Fitt is worried about getting fired.
