Hell, some of his worst plays are on downs where he has protection. When he can actually survey the field and go through his reads it's usually a disaster. You can literally watch him start to panic as his internal timer goes off and then he does something stupid. 😂

Yeah the more time he has to “read” the defense the worse his decisions were. The first read check downs and QB runs carried him for a few games until teams took that away.

Yep. He actually does decently when pressured immediately. He just dumps it off to his check down. It's when his first read isn't open and instant pressure doesn't force a check down and he has to actually start going through his progression... uh oh.

Mahomes changed his throwing motion?

Allen, they worked on his footwork - the same thing that COULD have fixed Darnold, y'know, before we sacrificed him behind the worst OLine in the NFL.

I thought he did but the more I looked into it he just cleaned it up. That was my mistake.

Darnold was sacrificed up in NJ, we just finished him off sadly. He can't read the field and at this point it isn't likely to change since he is doing exactly what he did in school 6 years ago. Darnold was always going to bust for that fact in the NFL and even playing for really bad teams doesn't change that.

CJ is the obvious pick imo because of his insane arm strength and decent accuracy. When CJ throws he's just kind of flicking the ball effortlessly a lot of the time, and the ball rockets down the field. It's crazy. CJ's throwing motion is kind of messed up, yet he's still able to get the ball where he wants it to go. Imagine if he fixes his throwing motion. He'll be amazing imo, assuming he can see the field.

His throwing motion isn't great or terrible.  I posted a video where they critique it and he gets the ball out in .3 seconds from start to finish.  I get it starts lower than desired, but it's quick enough to be successful at the next level.  It needs minor tweaking at most.

I am not an expert by any means on throwing motion, and thanks for these videos. I can tell you that I can throw a football very accurately, and looking at CJ's throwing motion it seems inconsistent and a bit awkward. There are times in games where CJ will miss throws to open targets badly, like way off. The throwing motion sometimes looks good, and sometimes you wonder if he lost focus or rushed it or something.

Yeah you are spot on about the inconsistency.  Sometimes he kind of cranks it back with more of a side arm and sometimes it looks polished.  I wonder if it has to do with what kind of throw he is making or if there is pressure.  He really hasn't had to face constant pressure in a game like Young has.  That's probably the biggest question mark for Stroud IMO.

Yeah his arm is just so powerful that he can flick it, which I am fine with, but sometimes he looks a little sloppy and the ball goes where ever the hell. I need to use torque on my body and be precise as hell with my throwing motion just make a decent throw, but CJ can just do a quick little flip and it's rocketing down the field. But like his set throws are inconsistent imo. I think it's the way he naturally likes to throw, but I know it wouldn't be for me. Anyway just some thoughts not an expert.

Kiper is big on measurables most of the time but the way he has these QBs ranked right now is reasonable even if I disagree

I like Young and Stroud right now personally in that order but there is long ways till the draft.

Not a Levis fan…I think he is massively overrated

Sitting here today if we ended up with Stroud I would be extremely excited about it.  If he continues to improve he can be amazing

I enjoy Kiper and Mcshay immensely. they do the work. But whos predictions in anything are 100% accurate or to be taken as gospel?  Guy deserves a hall of fame jacket for making the draft what it is as i say every year. He and Mcshay remind me of the ole veteran cop and the young rookie.

Kiper is the old stick with his gut instincts about a guy which can get you in trouble but can make you look luke a genius like we saw with his Pickles take. but also he was also the one who saw Josh Allen and said he would be the best qb.. Mcshay is the young guy who goes with the science and metrics usually sounds more responsible.

They are a great duo... usually the truth is some where in the middle. I enjoy their podcast called first draft they do every week during draft season where they talk back and forth for a hour about the draft and guys I wouldnt know otherwise.

God don’t let it be Levis. Something about him is just….creep worthy. I’ve watched him multiple times…Blaine Gabbert with a Bible verse on his arm. No thanks

I just can’t take him. I wasn’t big on Blaine Gabbert either  I never saw what anyone saw in him

give me the big time players playing big games and no offense to anyone but UofK ant it.  For every Josh Allen their are a dozen Wentzs

great college players get bigger  in big games. Levis, ah no
