Rams Offering Two (Future) Firsts for Burns

I remember when peppers could’ve been traded and left for the open market and we got absolutely nothing for him. Burns does not want to stay here.  Get the First round picks and move on.

Oh man, I had forgotten about that, he just walked away and we were stuck with nothing.  Painful memory there!  That is what bad front offices do, you take this trade and you run, get something while you can before we have another good player just walk away and we are searching for his replacement with no compensation

He’s not worth a huge contract. Average 15 sacks a year and be a little better against the run then yes.

And he's the wrong size for a 4-3. I hope his agent doesn't go crazy on the contract demands, but this could go south for us imo.

They are already teetering on the edge and if they waste their closest 1st rounders on a DE/Edge guy in line for a major payday then it would not take a lot to make them go over the edge by next year. They already can't keep up with contenders and Burns wouldn't fix their issues. They are already a fringe playoff team at best at this point with their QB deteriorating. If they don't find a good replacement they won't even be a fringe playoff team next year. We just need a pick way before 2024 if we are sending Burns away.

Sure they are due for a collapse, but I don't expect a top 10 pick in 2-3 years as others have suggested.

And I definitely agree on picks sooner than later.

    • I think it will be hard to not go edge in the second if we go QB first. Say you have Starks, one of Bond/Egbuka, and maybe one Edge (don't have a name to throw out that is end of 1st round projected and may slide)... do you still go Starks? Just curious. I haven't looked into starks much, as I've been focused on QB, WR, and DL prospects.
