Hockenson is currently under contract next year for 9mill his 5th year club option

A former agent was saying that if someone turned down two firsts for his client, he'd expect the team to offer highest paid DE money, topping the deal TJ Watt signed. I love Burns, but I'm not sure about giving him that.

And Burns is a high enough profile player that I think Tepper will believe Fitterer needs the benefit of his "wisdom"

They have a guy on staff who's done the job before and wasn't bad at it.

They trade their good young TE a few months prior to drafting what they hope to be their future franchise QB

Those picks they got don’t do anything for me if I’m a Lions fan knowing we most likely have the 1st overall pick

The hockenson deal makes no sense... they could have gotten more for him. Also, why in the division? Something more to that story...

The in-division part strikes me as strange on both sides of the deal honestly.
