College Games

As a Heels fan I'm torn about this upcoming Clemson/ND game. On the one hand, if we're to have any shot at all of the playoffs we need Clemson to win. On the other hand, if Clemson has any shot of the playoffs at all then we have no shot in the ACC Championship Game because the ACC will outright openly cheat for Clemson if they have to because the financial incentive for having a playoff team is HUGE and that's why refs should be employed by the NCAA and not the individual conferences.

Just now, LinvilleGorge said:

Kansas State is ranked #13 in the country and they're 6-2. We should be honored they still let us use their sound byte.

We will see what Texas is able to do against them. I do like Deuce Vaughn though and could be a good target for the Panthers in the 3rd or 4th round. Both RBs in the Texas/K-State game could be targets for the Panthers.

UNC fans probably want Notre Dame to beat Clemson tonight

Logic is that Clemson still plays the ACC Champ and Carolina if they win out has another quality win.

Probably would help if Bama loses tonight

    • Yep. Happens to a lot of talented kids. I just think a lot of people don't understand that just because this kid is super talented doesn't mean he's going to make it to the pros. Most of them won't. Some will get injured. Some will run into trouble off the court/field. Some won't put in the work. The catering greatly increases the odds of the latter two. Then most will simply just not be good enough to make it to the pros. Either way, it all adds up to a long shot and the kids need to have solid plan Bs. A few years back my HS had the #1 RB recruit on the nation. He originally committed to UGA but flipped to Bama and was getting decent playing time as a true freshman before obliterating his ankle. He was never the same again after that. Never made it to the pros. Not sure what happened to him but evidently he wasn't the brightest bulb and was basically just getting passed through school to stay academically eligible. I don't think he was a bad kid, never really heard anything like that. He just wasn't all that bright and all the eggs were in the football basket.
    • Our current hand is to pick up his fifth year option and then we have up to two more years to work on developing him and evaluating him.
    • That's just our current hand, its unfortunate. No easy solution and damned if you, damned if you don't.  Signing each is less wrong... Just wait until BY is up for a contract..... horn and icky will be nothing and each is super nerve wrecking...
