Allen isn’t a dual threat?  Say wut?

How many times do I have to list the definitions for you guys? It's on the previous page ffs.

you should want a dual threat. our most successful qbs have been dual threats as has been the case with most of the league. read option is dominate in the league right now and pocket passers arent doing so great.

A dual threat QB had never won the Superbowl and probably never will.

I want a mobile QB ala Mahomes, Steve Young, Russ, Allen, Staubach etc.

QB types worst to best

Running QB = below average passer elite runner.

Dual threat above average rusher above average passer.

Pocket Passer elite passer below average runner

Mobile QB elite passer average to above average runner.

That’s not the definition of a dual threat QB… that’s some made of mindset by yourself.

A quick Google will give you a definition… “In gridiron football, a dual-threat quarterback, also known as a running quarterback, is a quarterback (QB) who possesses the skills and physique to run with the ball if necessary.”

Making up some ridiculous definition to fit your narrative doesn’t help your argument as there isn’t a QB in the NFL that has to run… Lamar doesn’t have the accuracy that someone like Mahomes has but Lamar has better physical traits that he can use to help him win… so why wouldn’t he use them…

THERE’S NOT A SINGLE QB IN THE NFL THAT HAS TO RUN TO WIN.

Vick and The Golden Calf of Bristol had to run. Yes there are QBs like that.

And yes these are the correct definitions.

You can’t make up your own definitions… who do you think you are? Fugging Merriam-Webster…

No they didn’t lol… they took what the defense gave them and ran when they could. At the end of the day they had to throw the ball to win. If they only needed to run then they wouldn’t have ever thrown the ball.

He plays QB and is being looked at to do this same because of his arm and size. I’m sure you are doing the whole QBs that run are running backs thing… clever.

There's a flipside to that.

Not every QB that gets called a "dual threat" actually is. Some folks label any quarterback who can run and maybe halfway pass as a dual threat. Reality is the ones that aren't true passers tend to wash out of the NFL pretty quick.

Allen can beat you solely from the pocket. He doesn't have to run to win.

Neither does Mahomes.

They are both mobile QBs.

A duel threat has to run to win.

Incorrect.

Allen and Mahomes are both dual threat QBs. What you're terming as a dual threat is actually a running quarterback.

If they can run but can't throw that well, that's a running quarterback. Dual threat QBs can do both effectively.

Running QB’s aren’t in the NFL, it has not and won’t ever work… The Golden Calf of Bristol is the closest we’ve ever seen and the biggest play of his entire career was a pass… (overtime game winner against the Steelers in the playoffs)…

I don’t know where these random definitions come from but dual QB’s are in the NFL… they exist… and right now they are probably the best QB’s in the NFL.

They both couldn't throw.

Vick couldn't hit the ocean from the beach.

But he was elite. That phucking dive from what seemed like the 10yd line to score against us sure pissed me off.

I don't want a QB that can't make the big time throws in big time situations.

And you can't lump every QB that can somewhat throw and somewhat run all together its too broad.

Guys like Mahomes Staubach Young are in a separate class.

I want someone that can throw the ball like Mahomes, Brady, Allen Moon etc.

I don't care if he ever runs. If the other 10 guys do their job he shouldn't ever have to.

Of course he is.

Allen averages slightly more  yds per game on his career as Newton did and slightly less tds per game.

Statistically one of the better running qbs ever

He's a much much better passer than Cam was. It's not even close.

So is Lamar, Russ, Mahomes Rodgers Burrow Herbert
