What’s your 2023 QB big board (including Corral)

I'm implying that its usually a better idea to gamble on the guy with more dynamic traits than higher floor/pro readiness. Being able to run gives you a higher floor until you are able to to read defenses and develop the other side of the game. at the very least day 1 Willis gave you the read option threat that could be counted on day 1. Corrals strengths need to be honned and even now we still dont know if they translate.

You post implied that Malik > Corral because one will be starting and one isn’t. Which lacks any context on their situations.

And Corral can run as well, and did so quite successfully in the SEC (although his frame, unlike Willis, means you don’t want to run Corral as much).

I liked Willis, just not as a 1st rounder. In the 2nd/3rd he was worth the gamble for your stated reasons.

I basically just wanted anyone but Pickett to be honest 😂

you should want a dual threat. our most successful qbs have been dual threats as has been the case with most of the league. read option is dominate in the league right now and pocket passers arent doing so great.

A dual threat QB had never won the Superbowl and probably never will.

I want a mobile QB ala Mahomes, Steve Young, Russ, Allen, Staubach etc.

QB types worst to best

Running QB = below average passer elite runner.

Dual threat above average rusher above average passer.

Pocket Passer elite passer below average runner

Mobile QB elite passer average to above average runner.

He plays QB and is being looked at to do this same because of his arm and size. I’m sure you are doing the whole QBs that run are running backs thing… clever.

No. That’s not what I’m doing at all. I had to listen to idiots say that about Cam his whole career.

I’m not doing a “last time I checked, quarterbacks throw” ignorant statement.

Richardsons footwork, throwing motion, accuracy, and overall consistency as a passer are elementary at this point. He’s years away, if it’s even possible to fix him at this point.

Everyone loves a Josh Allen, but he is the exception. Fixing muscle memory is hard.

By “floor” I’m saying worst case, because he’s such an athlete, if he flops as a QB, he can play another position on his 2nd team and someone will pay him to do it.

Allen isn't Dual Threat.

Cam was OK. He wasn't a good enough passer. He couldn't win solely from the pocket.

Allen is 100% a dual threat QB and anyone saying otherwise is wrong.

He’s third among QB’s in rushing yards since 2020… if you want to create some absurd rushing number to define what a dual threat QB is then go ahead… it’ll just prove to everyone that you were wrong and are extending the finish line.

Since 2020

Jackson - 2.2K rushing yards

Murray - 1.5k rushing yards

Allen - 1.4k rushing yards

Hurts - 1.4k rushing yards

Jackson is the closest thing that we’ve seen to a Michael Vick type of player but that player is described as a unicorn… not a dual threat QB. A dual threat QB is exactly what guys like Allen and Hurts are.

Allen can beat you solely from the pocket. He doesn't have to run to win.

Neither does Mahomes.

They are both mobile QBs.

A duel threat has to run to win.

Mike Vick was not dual threat. He was a running QB

That’s not the definition of a dual threat QB… that’s some made of mindset by yourself.

A quick Google will give you a definition… “In gridiron football, a dual-threat quarterback, also known as a running quarterback, is a quarterback (QB) who possesses the skills and physique to run with the ball if necessary.”

Making up some ridiculous definition to fit your narrative doesn’t help your argument as there isn’t a QB in the NFL that has to run… Lamar doesn’t have the accuracy that someone like Mahomes has but Lamar has better physical traits that he can use to help him win… so why wouldn’t he use them…

THERE’S NOT A SINGLE QB IN THE NFL THAT HAS TO RUN TO WIN.
