Cowher's Coaching record...

Seifert without the Bill Walsh machine and then Ediie Debartelo's pre-salary cap check book:

1995 one and done in the playoffs with the 49ers.

1996 2 and done in the playoffs with the 49ers and fired.

3 years with the Panthers;

16 wins, 32 losses and fired.

The 49ers is why the NFL has a salary cap.

Fortunately the Panthers won't be considering any Head Coaches with skewed numbers friom the salary cap era.

Cowher was also coaching before the salary cap era. Still you said what I wanted to point out. Stats can be skewed..... I mean who would have though such a horrible coach for us would have a such a good Win %.

And per the stories, he didn't want to use a high pick on a QB. The team essentially overruled him.

That philosophy sounds vaguely familiar.

How fortunate the Steelers had a great evaluator of talent like Kevin Colbert and they went the Big Ben route as opposed to Shaun Andrews, Pro bowler with the Eagles that Cowher favored. Too bad the Panthers have Hurney and went J Stew as opposed to Joe Flacco. These are the type of decisions that change franchises. Chances at potential Franchise QBs are few and far between.

Conventional wisdom is that if Fox goes, Hurney may go with him.

My only issue is that he's already climbed the mountain, his legacy is secure, I'm not sure he could muster the same intensity that lead him to all the success in Pittsburgh.

Having said that, I still wouldn't mind seeing him here - I'd take just about anything over Fox right now (except Raheem Morris).

Yea and from what Fans say about Cowher he was very rigged just like Fox. I think people just want him for his SB and dont see the big picture.

I really hope that dose not happen. Hurney for the most part has been a good GM.
