I don't think the running QB thing is really about injuries.  It's just that the athletic ability to excel at running the football is the first thing to fade.  If you can make the right reads and get rid of the ball you can hang around in the league.  If you rely on being able to turn upfield for a 1st down on 3rd and long, you're just not going to be able to do that into your late 30s.  Most players fade at skill positions in their early 30s.

His shoulder is what gave out. His head and mind are fine. They were some bull poo no calls, but his throwing shoulder is what has officially given out.
