The Eagles have a very good football team around them. The Panthers do not. I don’t agree with the Panthers passing on the 2 first round draft picks

I’m talking about the player you are calling a JAG. Why would a “very good football team” offer 2 firsts for a JAG? Or sign a pass rusher than can’t play run defense to a nice contract?

Adam Shefter not generally known to be full of poo. Let me make sure I have this straight, you're claiming to know better than Shefter, with years of experience and contacts all over the league, whether any team has offered two firsts to the Panthers or not?

Let me be sure I'm clear on your position here.

What I'm saying is it's a smoke screen.  They want 2 first round picks and are saying they turned it down already to create their desired outcome.  At best, they received a late 1st and a 3rd and that's a stretch.

By the way NFL GMs lie a lot....IE not accepting less than a 1st round pick for CMC...then accepting less...lol. That was reported by the great "Adam Shefter" too.  GMs feed the press poo and hope to create the poo they feed them.

I'd rather spread it out over multiple seasons - and not trade players like Horn and Moore.

@rayzor His idea is to gut the team now including Horn and Moore.  If you get picks this year you can trade those picks for picks next year while also gaining capital this year.

I personally don't want to see any more of our talent traded away but if you are going to trade Burns than we are in full rebuild mode and accumulating picks will be the draw for a new head coach.

While you are dreaming about this, I will remind you that this is why I want a new GM. I have no faith in Fitterer based on the past two drafts. Iky was a brain dead pick. Fitterer and Rhule obliterated the OL in 2021, so we had to go LT and we lucked into the top ranked T being there at 6. The rest of the draft was given up picks including our 2023 3rd which will be around pick 64/65. 2021 was a shotgun blast of mediocre picks and the top guy can’t stay healthy.

Color me not impressed and scared about handing over the keys to our only talented guys for more picks by him.

Only reason I didn’t like the CMC trade (assuming he didn’t ask to be traded). I have no confidence in the guy who will be using those picks.

Multiple Panthers reporters confirmed this Adam's report though.

If Fitterer truly called the shots the last two drafts then I'm not impressed either. I tend to think that firing Rhule without also firing Fitts implies Rhule had enough control that we don't really know what Fitts might do if he got to call his own shots in the draft, unless Tepper is keeping Fitts around for the moment just so he can make all these trades for the tank.

I am willing to wait and see whether Tepper retains Fitts through the end of the season, or at least the trade deadline. That would be suggestive one way or the other.

You don't think credible sports reporters verify info from one organization from other sources? That's basically the difference between guys like Shefter and the bottom feeders who just print rumors unsubstantiated.  Those guys count on people not paying attention over time to whether their rumors have any truth behind them. You know who pays attention over time?

Mr Scot.  Why dont' you ask him who he regards as credible?

You seem to be constructing a reality out of whole cloth that suits your narrative without actually worrying about what's true beyond your own opinion.

Many don't like Fitterer but it's hard to tell when Rhule had his finger on the draft especially 2021.

Marshall seems to be a Brady pick because he played at LSU. I'm not 100% convinced he can't still be a good pick. However, we did get two solid picks in Horn and Christensen.

Icky was a solid pick and we didn't miss on him.  Corral is a complete unknown which really sucks because we are forced to take a QB in this draft.  I still have high hopes Brandon Smith comes around. He has shown he's got so skills.

That said, if we somehow obtain multiple 1st round picks we need to hit 100% on each of them.  If the value is not there for our needs, trade down or trade for 2024.

Fitterer will be remembered as the GM that traded CMC, whether it was a good trade or bad doesn't matter, Carolina will never be happy about that.  If Fitterer was smart he would gut this team and get as many picks as he can rather than leave parts and pieces in place that he can not retain during a partial rebuild and will eventually lose.  I would prefer he just gut it and move on along with the rest of the staff.  Carolina needs to be built from the top down with new GM, Coaches and Management who can build a team rather than continue to grab worn out parts and pieces or pay for some new parts while refurbishing others.  It's a half ass rebuild unless its 100%

He’s an excellent pass rusher. But it’s not an all-around defense end. A team that is very close that needs pure pass rusher  Burns is your guy. He’s a missing piece for a team that needs someone to do nothing but rush the passer
