Also, Burn is in line for  a HUGE payday and by trading him we free up MUCH needed cap room for next year.  The more I think about this, the more it needs to happen.

Where did you find this chart at? I would love to have this to see how much a putting out a awful product actually costs. For kicks and giggles, anyone know how much the offensive (and I do mean offensive) side of the ball actually costs the team?

Generally with extensions that number next year isnt going to change and we will be pretty set in 2024 with our books to be able to effectively manage our coming extensions.

I love Burns as a player and a leader but if the Eagles offered their 1st this year, the saints 1st this year and some change I'd really have to consider that offer if Burns isn't 100% committed on resigning here or if his contract demand is something crazy. I'd love to see what an NFL DC could do with him unlike Phill Snow who was dropping him into coverage on what seemed almost every 3rd down.

I think Burns is a fine DE. But he isn’t a game changer and his production can be replaced.
So the fact we were offered two first round picks and rejected then is baffling.

The offer was likely from a playoff contender and likely spanned over a couple of years, meaning the picks were 25th or worse.

Burns is VERY good at getting QB pressures. But he's average at actually sacking QBs. He's also average at setting and edge. You take the two 1st founders and run IMO.

Looks like he is number 8 in sacks over the past 3 years. He also comes up 8th in tackles in that same group of pass rushers. So he is top 10 at sacks as tackles as an end/edge rusher and is 26 years old. People on here calling him a JAG lol… Oh and that’s with Snow dropping him into coverage on 3rd and long.

A new deal for Burns would be a cap burden for years to come.  This is just making more and more sense to me. We already seen the reports that a team (probably Philly) was willing to deal the two firsts. Two things we desperately need going into next year is cap room and to stockpile draft picks.  Dealing Burns provides both of those in not a little, but in a MAJOR way.

Either Spotrac or OTC, but our offensive offense is costing us $81.7 million currently

Burns isn't worth anything. I've pointed this out for years here.

The guy can't do anything.

Saying it doesn’t mean poo honestly. CMC isn’t worth anything. See it’s dumb and pointless. Show some actual data why a 26 year who is the top 10 in sacks over the past 3 years isn’t worth anything. Why did a team offer 2 firsts for a player not worth anything?

    • We could easily pick apart yesterday’s game: dropped passes, blown coverages, bad tackling and red zone issues to name a few. But it was clear that this wasn’t the same team from earlier in the season. They fought back and hung with the champs until the end. That’s what I was excited to see and it gives me hope that we’re on the right track.
    • I think BY played well today and exceeded expectations. I will temper future expectations as he has to string together many games of consistent quality. One game doesn’t convince me that he is a franchise QB or even a guy you want to stick with for another season. One game doesn’t erase all the negative play and limitations from the past couple of years. I hope he balls out and continues to get better but for me the verdict is still out   That said, I think he gave the team and fans hope yesterday which is a lot more than what we had when we woke up Sunday morning.
    • He was vastly improved today and we need to see more of Bryce the rest of the season to continue evaluate him in order to decide what the heck to do with him at the end of the season. He must play at least like this and improve more from here the rest of the season in order for me to keep him. No more 123 yard passing games and want to see at least this output weekly from him. If this is Bruce improving slowly over time then Canales is even better with developing QB's than I thought he was but still too early to tell and we need to see him the rest of the way as he has at very least earned back the starting gig moving forward.
