He says its his model of doing things.  thats telling, it was totally unnecessary

The model isn't broken, it's who made the call for it to happen.  Did Fetterer do this on his own or did Rhule say make it happen?  HCs don't draw up contracts.  Again, who was the point man in saying: 'lock Robbie up before he hits FA after the season?'  Was it Rhule or was it Fitterer? I will eat crow if you can prove that Fitts did this largely on his own and Rhule wasn't the driving force behind Robbie staying in Carolina.

Anybody thinking coaches aren't at least 50% culpable for that outburst has probably never played WR or RB. That ish was not okay. I probably would have lost my ish too. He just shouldn't have kept going at him. Say your peace so they know how you feel, then bust your tail to make a play somehow.

This is about the only sensible post in this thread.

Are you saying he deserved the ext?  Not following here.  The model, as according to Fitt was to get ahead of him becoming a free agent with the ext even when he had a season left.  Thats not smart in regards to this jackass.  Its probably not smart even to do before the season for a guy you actually like.   We obviously had the same philosophy with Cmac and you know how that went.

If rhule said to sign him (which I agree with you he did) then fitt is a gm cuck for not pushing back if he didnt think it was necessary.   And like I said he better have some receipts of that given the RA past 2 years of play and his behavior this season.

In short there was absolutely no reason to add money and years to his deal.  And that is without even acknowledging the elephant in the room of Terrace Marshall.  Who we drafted in the 2nd who we apparently had a first round grade on him.  Signing robbie to an extension, drafting marshall so high and knowing we had to sign moore (which he talks about in the video) is not good roster management

Rhule had 100% of roster control at this point.  Fitts could have pushed back, but who is going to win that argument?  Now, I will agree the extension was bloated.  The years wasn't necessarily the problem (2 more years), but the money was too much.

Marshall was a rookie.  Unless you have a high first round pick at WR, you don't pencil them in as starters.  As shown, Marshall was always going to be a project.
