While I disagree with Wilkes doing it, I think I get it.

 

Say he burns a timeout, fights to get a fg before half. Say that goes badly, we turn it over. Now PJ has his confidence shaken and they have a chance at points + ball after the half.

It's coward's ball but it might be the move. Defense has been stellar, no need to press. Still wish we had given ourselves at least a first down shot, but oh well.
