I think its the dead cap and if traded anytime this year, it would all hit at once. something like 27 million.

At the end of the day teams are trading contracts, and the dollar amount of those contracts are how franchise measure gaining value. Teams are not in the business to pay for other team's contracts.

I need to know one or multiple GM's personally to conclude that most of them will recognize that they can simply walk away from the table if we demand more than a 3rd or 4th round pick given everyone knows our contractual circumstances and the circumstances with the question of his availability given his recent run of injuries? Okay.

Just like being cut his remaining bonus money will count immediately instead of being pro rated.

We are aware. The key to that within this current discussion is absorbing the dead cap hit that is coming one way or another with or without an additional draft pick to ease our minds and give us something anything to build on after wasting an 8th overall pick and the most expensive RB contract in the NFL. But again we do not hold much leverage if you want to continue to argue that there is nothing more we can discuss because it is fantasy.

Did I read the report wrong? Did it say the Panthers are calling other teams to trade him?

It does, that issue should not be debated. Unless theres some new rule/loop hole about dividing up the hit ala post june 1st cut. The trade would be very complex for both parties. Panthers need lube for all the bonus money and are there teams that still view CMC as "elite" *and* want to offer a "elite" trade package? I dont see it, imo CMC will remain a panther.

Dead cap hit either way? lol They aren't cutting him. Wasted? By what definition this team has no SB wins every draft pick in franchise history is technically a waste by your ludicrous definitions.

If the Panthers were deathly afraid of the dead money McCaffrey wouldn't be available for trade. They know it's coming sooner or later it was a bad deal all along it is what it is.

I believe GM Scott is just gathering information on CMCs league wide value and RBs in general. Adding this information to the cut option as well. Hes smart about having a "open door" policy about taking any/all trade calls. I had a boss with a similar deal about allowing any vendor in the door, it can benefit everyone if youre smart.....but it also opens your options and market too.

I'd have to differ a bit on this IMO this is much more than just due diligence. We are going to shed some of these bad deals one way or another and he's probably been directed to do so by Tepper. That's not a good thing but given how hands on our owner has been it's likely the case. Hopefully things don't get too ugly.

Bro, if you trade CMC aka your best weapon, thats a harder sale to gain a good HC. You got to factor that in too, lots of stuff to factor in this shitshow...

I think scott will not just make one move either, he will line a few moves with agreed terms and if one happens the others will too. Honestly us fans overrate players, I still think thats the biggest issue. League is not impressed with 2 seasons IR current meh stats CMC, 9 sack best season Burns, Robbie lols, DJ "scared of TDs" moore, etc etc..
