I was on the tank bandwagon, but after looking more further, I say we just roll with Corral and draft BPA.

I’ll bet anything we take a qb in the first this draft no matter position.  Right or wrong we are getting a qb.  Unless we trade for Lamar.  Lololololololol

I sincerely hope we don't do that as desperately as I want a 1st round QB. If the right QB is there, absolutely draft him. But don't force it. Let's say you think there's three franchise QBs in the draft and you're sitting at #4 and they go #1-#3 and you tried to trade up and got rebuffed. You can't draft a QB in that situation just to check the box.

Yeah. No.  That’s not realistic that a new head coach is going to want basically 2 rookies and no vet in their qb room.

It doesn't matter. This isn't about the vet, who will more than likely be a bridge, it's about Corral being on equal footing with anyone that we may draft.

He may not, but it will be because a rookie has beaten him out. I think that it's presumptuous to think a rookie will simply win the job. I'm not saying that a rookie won't win the job, but I don't believe that any sensible coach will hand it to him without giving Corral a legit shot. I just don't see it. Corral has enough talent to compete with anyone drafted. That's just the way that I see it.

I agree he has talent. Either way we’ll likely have a 1st round rookie QB and Corral competing next offseason. Let the best player win.

If and when we draft our guy in the top 5ish there is no equal footing.  It doesnt work like that in the NFL.  You have this strange outlook on what Corral actually is and you are totally forgetting he is done for the year.   A new staff is going to draft a qb and sign a vet.  Thats just what is going to happen.  Will Corral get somewhat of a chance, maybe, probably but its not going to be anywhere close to "equal footing" as you are thinking.

A QB that has “it” got overlooked by everyone but Steve Smith. If he is developmental then why are people concerned about Baker starting over him or us drafting one next year. Developmental QBs need time and don’t work out more times than not.

I don't believe anyone is or ever was concerned about Baker starting over Corral--no one serious. Once Baker was signed, it was a done deal. I also don't believe that anyone is concerned with drafting a QB. I halfway expect it. My point is that Corral will get just as much of an opportunity as anyone that we draft, though some Huddlers just assume that he won't. I'm saying that any coach worth his weight in gold is going to let Corral legitimately compete.

His recovery is basically a year.  So that puts him at best training camp and even then who the fug knows what you are going to get from him being shelved that long and with a foot injury.

Again, it doesnt work like that in the NFL.  It just doesnt.  No crippled 3rd round developmental guy is going to get the same opportunity as a top5/10 first round pick.   If you have an example I would be glad to research but I suspect you are just talking out of your ass

Say whatever you want. We all know that you talk out your ass all the time.

I will give you this, if for some reason Corral can't get on the field by TC due to the injury, he won't get a legit shot. But that's the only reason (other than having another complete dumbass as a coach).

Do you think a new staff is going to wait and see on Corral before signing a vet?
