Defend what?  I'm just pointing out that its interesting Eason is getting 1st team reps.  If the 2nd team QB is getting 1st team reps every week then that's news to me.

I think it's more due to the fact that he wasn't around for training camp/preseason so he's had literally zero reps aside from playing some scout team.

Define "physically".

He's certainly got great size for a quarterback, but I don't remember him necessarily being anything special in the athleticism department.

Size. Cannon.

“Pure pocket passer” physically lol.

Let’s call it the Drew Bledsoe physique.

And I think Bledsoe would have a hard time in today's game.

There's a reason why the player comparison here is from 20 years ago.

To be fair, I've heard the same about Tom Brady.

He's arguably one of the least athletic quarterback prospects in the league. He's also one questionably the most successful.

(and I don't buy that it's only because he's some kind of unicorn)

Brady's high level of awareness in the pocket combined with his footwork makes him good at buying time and evading the rush (for a pure pocket passer type).

Combine that with his Gumby like physique and pliability, and he is heavily resistant to injuries as well.
