How could we not give Fitt another chance?!?

Yeah I really don’t understand it. He was a (more that likely) big part of our staff that got us to this terrible state. The “it’s unfair to fire him” is just odd. I’m still surprised at the “if you fire him his friend won’t take a promotion” view too. Can you imagine Dan Morgan being like “no I won’t take this promotion with more pay/responsibility because you fired my buddy.”
Also what happens if our new coach is a Sean Payton and wants final roster control? I guess we could never fire Fitt. It’s a high paying job with no responsibility apparently…

I worked in the corporate world for over 20 years.  Spent time in the RTP and at Duke Energy and I could write a book detailing some ruthless backstabbing amongst colleagues that people thought were there friends.  At the end of the day money and power (and pussy) will make you do some insane poo

There is this weird thing on the huddle with some folks where the GM after Hurney is anointed to a status never earned and given free passes until it is abundantly clear he was bad too. This happened with Dave Gettleman and it started early with Scott Fitterer. Maybe we keep Fitt maybe we don't but if we don't it would absolutely be justifiable.

Ohh it definitely happened with Hurney 1.0 too.

These dumfugs that are like "it's all Rhule, let's see how Fitt does with a new coach" were the same dumfugs that were like "it's all Fox, let's see how Hurney does with a new coach". Some people never learn I guess.

Yeah, by the time we hit Hurney 2.0 status people were fed up with giving free passes, but it takes FOREVER for some of these people to come around to the obvious conclusion everyone else figured out years ago.

This case it's not even backstabbing.  If Fitt gets fired Dan Morgan taking the job or not doesn't change that.  Fitt wold be fired for performance not just so his buddy can have his job.

It's honestly baffling to me that we're paying out a massive chunk of our cap space, nearly $100 mill to Anderson, Moton, Shaq and DJ... and made FA priority signing for nobody scrubs like Ian Thomas, Erving and Elflein... and traded nearly an entire draft of picks (2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th) for Darnold, Mayfield and CJ Henderson and people are still like......... HMMMMMMMMM.... you know what..... I JUST NEED MORE TIME TO DECIDE

But some are speculating (John Ellis for one) that Morgan is going to get a gm job sooner then later and we are letting another brandon beane walk out the door

My point is Tepper is going to paint a picture to make himself look better.  Acting like we have gotten better is showing he didn’t totally botch his hires (like he did).

The Huddke heard things have shifted on that front, but he has never been stated Rhule lost roster control. You are just assuming because you like some of the moves.

Again who is responsible for these terrible contracts? Is Rhule restructuring contracts as well and signing Erving and company to bad deals?

You really have to let go of this whole “he had no final say so he shouldn’t be fired” spill. He did something these past 3 years that has contributed to where we are at as a franchise. I’m going to have to remember that line if my boss ever tries to fire me… “you can’t because I don’t have final say on everything.” That’s just not how the world works. As stated he took the job knowing the situation and we failed to be a complete team for these 3 years. If they fired him I can see it as justified.

Have you forgotten Samir Suleiman exists?

And no I don't, because I'm pretty sure if you were fired from a position you were perfectly qualified for because the actions of a superior who wasn't qualified for their job but negatively affected yours, you'd be howling.

I'd dd you never answered how all this blame you think falls on Fitterer misses Dan Morgan.

Morgan has had one GM interview, and that was with the Steelers were interviewing everybody. Most guys who end up as GMs have multiple interviews before they finally get the job.

He got a job with the Seahawks when he was first starting out, with the Bills because of Beane and with the Panthers because of Fitterer. That's not to say he's bad, but I do think the Panther fanbase might be overrating him a little bit.

I've seen nothing to indicate Morgan is as hot a GM candidate as some think...well, except from Panther fans who want to blame Scott Fitterer for everything but somehow think Dan Morgan is absolved.

Wow guys if one exception exists in the entire universe during the all of human history we just can't make the very obvious blatant decision that everyone sees GIVE HIM MORE TIME WHAT ABOUT THAT ONE IN A MILLION TIME THAT THE GUY WAS GOOD HUH WHAT ABOUT THAT

FFS these arguments just get more and more pathetic

Like we can't even argue that Fitterer is good anymore, just arguing about vague abstracts now.

"oh yeah but what about this one exception of this one guy in this totally different situation WHAT ABOUT THAT HUH"

like LOL you can't even pretend Fitt is a good GM anymore and just arguing still because you can't let it go

Wrong. I actually think he is good and can be better.

Not being shackled to Matt Rhule would help a lot.

    • I want to throw in how much easier it is for a QB to develop and improve with a good oline.  Huge credit to the front office for spending the money on our two guards.  Cade Mays also had a 2nd really good game starting at center.  Love how he has developed and hope he's the real deal. Look at what Stroud is dealing with now in Houston after injuries and problems with their oline.  Strouds accuracy has been greatly affected as it seems like he doesn't trust his protection. Canales is doing a great job developing Bryce.  I think the QB whisperer might be for real. And obviously big props to Bryce.  First round pick that looks horrible in his first year.  Different coaches and systems.  Fans and media are calling him the biggest bust in NFL history and he looked like it in the first two games this year.  Gets benched.  Young man keep his cool and just continued to work and only worry about what he can control.  I hope things continue like this and we end up with a great success story. Bryce Young kept pounding.
    • Outside of Philly (who currently is #3 in pass defense) the rest of our remaining opponents are bottom 1/3 of the League in that regard.  Let's see what Bryce can do versus bad pass Ds.
