He has no clue we could draft a stud qb who can preform like Trevor L but if you have a Urban Meyer running the show he’ll never ascend. Now with a solid coach and system he’s look like his former hiesman, winning,  and accurate self. And he himself can’t take his team out of purgatory because that’s not how it works lol.

I’m not talking about Baker. There are no QBs are this roster that can win Super Bowls.
Gotta take the chance at drafting one.

I wanna tank but it’s hard not rooting for coach wilks. I know cardinals fans think he was the worst coach ever but I’m not even sure how you can evaluate a coach after 1 season with Josh fuging Rosen as your qb and all the veteran losses they had after a mediocre 8-8 year and Carson Palmer retiring. That was a rebuilding team. He was never given a chance. And he wanted to draft Allen. If he was given 3 years which is generally acceptable with Allen he might’ve made something out there.

That said this team is not good. We have no qb. We might see some marginally better play but we’re still bad.

This is what we may face.  Tanking is a fan term not an NFL strategy.  Players don't go out on Sunday to intentionally lose so they can obtain a higher draft pick.   Our situation is very bleak, you can bet each player is going to do their best to win the next 12 games.  If we lose out, than it won't be because our players didn't give the effort.

So based on that, you are on the record saying Barry Switzer (40-24, .625) was a better NFL coach than Jimmy Johnson (80-64, .556).  Got it.

Oh, I didn't know Wilks won a SB.    What year was that?

Any more moving of the bar that you want to do?  You sound like Rhule, trying desperately to add some meaningless number to prove something.

But, to humor you, here is the discussion.  Both Johnson and Switzer coached SB winning teams (I would make the point Switzer watched idly from the sidelines, but he had the title of HC).  You said they are what their record says they are.  Which one was better?

Or you can add in their zodiac signs or some other nonsense to try and roll back your first statement.

Allen sucked his rookie year, it wouldn't have saved Wilks.

Lamar Jackson was still on the board when Wilks and co passed on him for Rosen.

Wilks was part of the management that chose Rosen over Lamar Jackson.    Their D was putrid as well.  They rebounded  after Wilks was gone.

That’s what I’m saying you can draft one and win, no one knows if he’ll be good or not I believe CJ or Bryce in the right situation can win. But I definitely agree we have to find our answer through the draft we need our new franchise qb in a bad way.

Whatever makes you feel better.  Wilks was considered a miserable failure in Arizona.  Rhule actually won more games  his first year than Wilks, included losing tight games to good teams.

You can carry water for the 3 -win Wilks all you want, but he was hated in Arizona, passed on Jackson, and every draft pick was gone in a couple years.

When asked if Wilks could turn the season around, Tepper laughed.

You are what your record says you are, SB winners exempted.

Interesting how standards change.

I did.  He wouldn't have done any better the first year with Allen, there is no way he was making it to year three after completely tanking year 1.  They sucked in all  phases of the game when they were 8-8 the year before.  Any excuses about lost talent would apply to Rhule as well who won 5 games year 1 and was competitive against good teams.

He passed on Lamar Jackson for Rosen.  He can bitch how they wouldn't trade up, but Jackson was still on the board when his turn came around.

Plenty of teams have shown you don't need a top 3 pick to get a good QB. Losing out means our roster is much further away than I hoped and definitely much more than just a QB away. If Wilks can actually turn the team around I'll be excited. There's no guarantee that losing out and drafting a QB top 3 doesn't end up just where we are anyway.  We already have two QBs selected at the top of the draft on the roster, lol.

Yup, wish more people understood this. Jags are a great example. Everyone thought they just needed a QB and the rest of the roster was solid. They got Trevor 2 seasons ago and still suck. When you go 1-16 or 2-15 you almost always have a lot more wrong than just needing a QB.

For as much bitching he did about "People wanting Rhule to fail", I don't think anyone put as much effort into that as he is hoping Wilks fails.
