So was Gruden...for a little while.

Harbaugh has the same issues. It's why he's better off as a college coach. He can cycle through kids in three or four years before they get tired of his bullsh-t.

Coaching paid adults is a little more complicated.

Harbaugh was never not successful, he had a very talent deficient 49ers team competing every year. The only reason he left was disagreement with the GM, as far as I recall. I’m not pushing for us to hire him, but I can’t think of a coach who did more in his entire stint with less than Jim Harbaugh, personality issues or not (and yea he did seem like a real asshole)

That wasn't the only reason.

If you look up old articles about him, you'll find there were significant complaints from players, especially veterans. They hated him.

That's not really a surprise when you talk about authoritarian coaches, especially these days.

They were undisciplined. He was a disciplined QB playing for a noooo nonsense Coach in Mike Ditka.

Of course he's not going to be a dang pushover.

I find it very hard to cry for grown men making millions of dollars who don't want to be lead or told what they must do and when to do it. Football IS discipline.

Jim Harbaugh is one of the best coaches to ever Coach in the NFL, the record books say so.

Scot likes donut parties for players. Harbaugh comes with the expectation that you will work your ass off to WIN. He was an NFL player under Mike Ditka, he will not cut any slack, you can love him AFTER the trophies.

Mike LaFleur was OC for the Jets last year as well was he not? Also this list kind of leaves out the 50 year old guys which is a good age for a HC i think. Of this list:
