I’ll keep watching because I’m an addict…but also for the defense.

This team is watchable with a complete reframe of what football is.

1. Offense doesn’t exist. It’s basically a commercial. Go get that beer. Make some nachos. Crank one out. Do whatever you like!

2. Final score? Bollocks, what is that? Irrelevant. That’s for everyone else. You’re an individual; a pioneer. You don’t need something everyone else wants, you hipster you.

3. Ah…the defense steps onto the field. Look at how fast they are. What are they doing out there? Try…try…trying? Making an attempt? Giving effort? Now that’s something I can watch to distract me from daydreaming about prime Cam and Luke every 15 seconds.

Sack: 2 points

TFL: 2 points

Turnover: 5 points

TD: 7 points

If they end with more points than the offense they play against, I call my mother and tell her I love her. I don’t purposely drive slower if someone is tailgating me, and I don’t argue the opposite side of the abortion debate to intentionally piss off whoever I’m talking to at the next party I attend, whatever their view is.

I’m slightly unhinged, and yet, I find peace in this chaos. Once a scary place, It’s becoming like a warm fluffy blanket that keeps my toesies toasty.

KeEp PoUnDiNg fellow gluttons for punishment.

frankie luvu made that poo fun

he and spurts of horn are the only bright spots.

i think the defense, just like last year, looks better the first few games than they actually are.

we're going to be facing some actual NFL level OCs and play callers coming up. it could get ugly...again.

I know I should stop watch. I said this during the 2019 season. I said it last year. I have said it this year.
But I know at 4 pm this Sunday I will be watching again.

For me I think it’s the small number of games, and they are once a week.

I find it much easier to give up on the hornets. 82 games becomes unbearable.

Might be right. They are just on the field so damn much. I like the fire and effort though. They are fun to watch, aside from the general anxiety of being on defense and potentially giving up points.

We've got our fair share of good defensive personnel...which probably shouldn't surprise anybody given that's where we've concentrated our talent acquisition over the last few years.

Coaching and scheme? Eeehhh 😕

Am I the only one who thinks our defense has been overrated for two years straight now? Don't get me wrong, it's not a bad defense, but people talk like we are a top 5 defense and that simply isn't the case no matter what the stats say. This defense has blown so many leads, gotten their sh*t pushed in by the run, and has buckled every time they have faced a good offense. We have good pieces in place, but the scheme is gimmicky and has been exposed for 2 1/2 years now.

I think they are both underrated and overrated 😆.

People hanging on to “2nd ranked in nfl” are fooling themselves.

People thinking they are poo are fooling themselves.

I think the unit plays solid football and is plenty good enough to win games. We also have youth at critical positions, so the future looks bright too.

I think if our offense was anywhere close to plain boring average, we would have a clearer picture on whether or not the D was legit or sucked. However…they get worse each year.

The time of possession is just so embarrassing right now. Flat embarrassing. Shameful. Difficult to evaluate a defense.

Lol I bet we have the #1 defense in cardio performance.

    • The other draft picks have turned out pretty well. Brooks will too.
    • I'm still not touching Hunter He again said the other day that he plans on playing both sides of the ball in the NFL.  If he is allowed to do that, he won't be as good on either side as his potential and he's going to have serious injury issues and have a short career.  If he's not allowed to do it, I think he's going to become a problem when the team isn't winning as he's going to feel him not being used on both sides of the ball is why. He's being coddled in that environment with Deion and I think it's doing a disservice to him to prepare him for life in the NFL where your coach isn't a 2nd father to you, to where you can just walk into his locker room and steal his shoes like Hunter does to Deion.
    • He’s a tad behind them. Around 15ish of 32 starters in the league. He’s well ahead of a lot of guys. Tua, Bryce, Cousins (present), Rodgers (current), Devito/Jones, Minshew, Russ (current), Watson, Smith, Carr, T Laws deep ball is weak as poo IMO, there’s plenty. And it’s not like everyone is ripping 60+ers. The key component is if you can rip and maintain velocity of the 30-40 yarders which he does super well. Legit every report out there from Brugler to PFF to PFN document him as good/above average arm strength.  Eye test tells me it’s pretty much that as well, slightly above average.
