It might cost us a couple of spots in the draft but not much I fear. It will just cost more to move up.

A couple of spots in the draft may not be too bad as there are apparently several great QB's that will be available next year.  But at this point, I'm pretty much hoping for the number one spot.  I hate having to say that but as has been said by others, this season is pretty much lost.  So why not dream.

Of course, that is incumbent on Fhule and the rest of his clown show being gone next year and a competent head coach being hired.  If he is still year at draft time, I'm confident he'll find some way of screwing it up.

I don’t think it matters who the OC or QB is. We’ve had a different QB every year, including Cam and PJ we’ve had I think 5 different starting QBs, and this is our 3rd OC if you count the interim when Brady was fired. The offense has been not just bad, but unwatchable, ever since Rhule got hired. Rhule is the common factor. Baker and Macadoo have actually had success in the NFL, Rhule has never. That’s why it’s so important that we just go ahead and fire Rhule because we need to be able to evaluate our team apart from him. While he’s here his stench is on everything.

I'm in the same boat. I definitely though McAdoo and Mayfield would be improvements, as well. Didn't expect greatness, but some level of competency that would make the team competitive throughout the season, and give the players a chance to surprise people.  Instead we are talking about the draft the first week in October:/

Same. I thought a NFL OC paired with a NFL QB (Baker was never this bad), would equate to a nice jump with the possibility of sneaking into the playoffs. This offense might be worse that last year’s….

I actually thought McAdoo would be a positive. He was not a good HC but as a coordinator he was good for Manning and that gave me encouragement.  I thought a couple of real NFL coaches on staff  might help Rhule be better.  I thought Mayfield would be a lot better than he is.  Did not think he would be  all pro but would be better than Darnold.  The batted balls, his inaccuracy....did not expect that.

I do tend to be an optimist.  Thought that this  team, because of the talent that we have, might be a wild card team instead of in competition for the worst team in the NFL.

This season is lost, miserable.  We wait so long for this and as fans deserve better.    Tepper has been a disaster as an owner.  Our only hope is that by some miracle he can admit that he does not know what he is doing and puts some real football people in charge.  Doubt his ego will ever allow that.  The NFL screwed us by falling in love with Tepper's money.  He was not who I wanted as an owner, but when we got him, again...was hoping for the best.  Did not expect that we would end up with the worst.

I have been a Panther fan from the beginning.  I went to home games for years.  A job loss due to the pandemic interrupted that.  Glad I am not now spending big money now on this sh#t show.  At this point, I refuse to even buy a t-shirt until things improve.  I know, like spitting into the ocean but it is my own little personal protest.

I too was on the bandwagon that McAdoo was going to bring some stability to this offense.  Apparently not.

Spending my career in the USN I learned a thing or two about leadership.  One thing I learned was that when a leader has problems no matter who it is that works under them.  It usually turns out the problem is the leader and not the subordinate that they keep replacing.

Rhule blamed Brady and fired him and I am sure Rhule is looking at McAdoo as a scapegoat this year. While I don't think the answer is McAdoo, I cannot help but think Rhule has a finger in our offensive ineptness.

Girlfriend has been begging to go to a game for a couple of years now.

Won't do it until Rhule is gone and the shitshow if somewhat corrected. Joke of a team & organization right now. Sundays are basically spent hate-watching and wondering when we'll screw up. Sucks, but it's Week 5 and I'm already in offseason mode.

When we brought in Teddy I knew that was a lost season, and we gave him a multi-season contract. When we brought in Darnold, I knew that was a lost season, and we gave him a multi-season contract. When we brought in Baker I thought he was better than Darnold, but I still thought we were looking at another lost season. I thought these things at the time, not 20/20 looking back. Fitt decides who we bring in to play QB. Fitt is a moron when it comes to QBs. He has no idea what he is doing. The huddle knows better than Fitt about QBs, and that is why this team is trash.

Rhule is not helping matters because how could he? What could any HC do with Darnold at QB? You're just going to lose. Baker is a loser as well. The Browns paid him to go away. The best Rhule can do is to tell Baker to stop shuffling his feet like he's tap dancing before he throws. Baker is going to do whatever he wants until Rhule gets rid of him. "It's not the end of the world" is Baker's mindset. Baker will blame everyone else when things go wrong. He's a finger pointing guy, but the blame is with Fitt. Fitt is the reason Baker is the QB of this team, and Baker's poop play is the primary reason we are losing.

All of that is in the past now. This season is already lost. Yes we may still win 5 meaningless games, but no one cares anymore. The furture is now what matters, and the 2023 draft is the most important thing that will happen since we missed out on Justin Herbert in 2020. We must land the best QB from that good draft class to have any hope of seeing things turn around by 2024. If we miss again like in 2020, then we might as well give up on football for a couple of seasons until Rhule and Fitt are fired. Especially Fitt as he is mostly to blame.

ladypanther, a lot of us are with you.  Many of us Huddlers respect and appreciate you and your opinions.  I as well as you have been a Panther fan since the beginning.   We suffered the 1 and 15 season and had hope for the next year.  I have no future hopes unless changes are made at the top.  I agree whole heartedly with you that Tepper must fire rule NOW.  Tepper needs football savy managers NOW.

You and I may not agree on everything but you can assured that when you say something I and many more listen as well as respect you.

We as fans want to be optimistic or at least have some hope, especially early in the season. It is really sad and depressing to realize that the season is already over after 4 games.

Has rule become very predictable?  I thought they at least tried CMC with different looks.  90% right up the middle is predictable.

I started this thread after the giants game. Fitterer has gotten way too much of a free pass for the rosters he has put together and some of the awful trades/draft picks he’s made. His mid round picks have rivaled the Hurney drafts and the “value” on his trades has generally been poo. I suspect people are letting him skate because they can’t bear to think that we also need to replace the front office in addition to most of the coaching staff.

    • We could easily pick apart yesterday’s game: dropped passes, blown coverages, bad tackling and red zone issues to name a few. But it was clear that this wasn’t the same team from earlier in the season. They fought back and hung with the champs until the end. That’s what I was excited to see and it gives me hope that we’re on the right track.
    • I think BY played well today and exceeded expectations. I will temper future expectations as he has to string together many games of consistent quality. One game doesn’t convince me that he is a franchise QB or even a guy you want to stick with for another season. One game doesn’t erase all the negative play and limitations from the past couple of years. I hope he balls out and continues to get better but for me the verdict is still out   That said, I think he gave the team and fans hope yesterday which is a lot more than what we had when we woke up Sunday morning.
    • He was vastly improved today and we need to see more of Bryce the rest of the season to continue evaluate him in order to decide what the heck to do with him at the end of the season. He must play at least like this and improve more from here the rest of the season in order for me to keep him. No more 123 yard passing games and want to see at least this output weekly from him. If this is Bruce improving slowly over time then Canales is even better with developing QB's than I thought he was but still too early to tell and we need to see him the rest of the way as he has at very least earned back the starting gig moving forward.
