FFS. This post wasn't an attack on Cam, but a point that tall QBs get batted passes too.

It's on the player, team, and coaches to fix.

The article you linked said that Cam had eight through three games in 2015, we are on 12 with Mayfield. Not to mention, this was also an issue in Cleveland… it’s not just a Panthers thing. Mayfield had five passes swatted down in his last start for Cleveland against Pittsburgh. So over Mayfield’s last five starts, he’s had 17 passes batted down while playing for two separate teams.

It’s pretty damn obvious that 1) the ball trajectory is too low and 2) his best passes come from when his drop backs are extended.

The problem is that McAdoo likes to get the ball out quick which means all of Mayfield’s drop backs are at the most three step drops. It also doesn’t help that his release has slowed down since he entered the league.

I agree. My central point was height isn't the issue if Newton could have the issue (Osweiler also had it, being 6'6")

It's something else in Mayfield's game (and the offensive handling of him that needs to be addressed.
