He can take Ian's and Chuba's snaps. Hell he can take some snaps from just about any pass catcher as not a single one of them are a must have on every play.

I'm very confused about McAdoo wanting to force feed our stable of jag tight ends when we have better options of check down/yac guys. He seems extremely stubborn and stuck in his ways

Stubborn or just plain incompetent. He's predictable and unimaginative. He's still running a basic offense as if it were preseason.

Fwiw, I think Ian has played ok that last couple of weeks.  Given how little we throw the ball, the three catches are decent.  And his blocking has held up well.

This team has a group of gadget WRs. They aren't tacticians (route runners, set up DBs, superior at tracking the ball). That can work though- see 49ers. This actually makes things easier for our QB, and fits what we seem to have at that position as well. We don't have the personnel for a conventional NFL offense. Even our RB1 has strong slot WR capability. This should be an unpredictable offense where you never know who's getting the ball. All plays look the same out of only 4 or 5 formations. Based on match ups, not defensive coverage. No team has the defensive personnel to cover DJ on a slant, Robbie on a fly, Shenault on a screen, and CMC on a choice route - on the same play.
