Was it Smith's fault

It's Smitty's fault 100%.

He ran the wrong route, plain and simple. And IMO it wasn't a bad pass at all.

We are talking about one of the best WRs in the game. If he ran the right route all he would have to do is bend over a little to make the grab. The reason the pass looked bad, was because of the route Smith ran.

If you don't agree with me that the pass wasn't bad, then think about this: If Smith ran the right route, it would have been an incomplete pass, and we aren't looking at an early 7-0 deficit.

Actually Jake is at fault. He thought that Smitty was the hot read on that play meaning he was going to pull up so he threw it to that spot. Actually in that formation Moose on the outside was the hot read and he correctly ran a slant. Smitty wasn't looking because his read on that was a skinny post.

Jake threw it where he wanted to throw it expecting Smitty to pull up. Problem is that it should have been thrown to Moose who actually ran the right play.
