If Peppers/Peppers' agent signs the tender on time...go for it.

But if you think you'd ever get a 1st out of the Patriots for Peppers...you're out of your mind. This isn't the Oakland Raiders you're dealing with.

I don't know how an uncapped 2010 season impacts all of this though...and I choose not to try to understand it.

I don't see any team parting with a first round pick for Pep, especially the Pats. His work ethic, or lack there of, is well known around the league! I don't see the Pats giving up a second rounder for him either, but maybe another team would consider that. We got no interest for him this past year after tagging him. I'm going to predict that we end up giving him his release after this year. I just don't see any room for agreement from either party after what transpired this past off season. He isn't worth the million per game he's getting now.

Doesn't the franchise tag mean that the player so designated can veto a trade? If that is so, Pep just may decide he doesn't want to go to certain teams. That would put the team in a 'damned if you do, damned if you don't' situation. I think given how the team is not going anywhere with him, cutting his huge salary by turning him loose may be the best we can realistically hope for. I hope not, but it is a definite possibility.
