I still don’t understand the rationale behind not using Chinn exactly like he was used his rookie season. He was a revelation that season, all over the place making plays, and now the past 2 seasons they want him to play centerfield 20 yards off the ball. It makes no sense. If they let him do his thing like they did his rookie year this defense would look a lot better all around.

He played up some in the Browns game though had some real head scratcher assignments last year.

I want to see how we do against a team a bit more confident in their passing game.  Problem is, we don't get that until week 3 v. NO.  I'll be very interested to see how we do against Thomas, Landry, Olave with Kamara healthy.

Man that is very interesting for Saturday morning twitter 😃

Is it realistic?  That's another matter.  While there are a lot of egos and money involved in the NFL.  Could some that be true?  Sure.  But we won't really know because of the fraternity of the NFL.  If it's at least partially true, then Rhule won't finish the season.

On the flip side, if the Panthers win Sunday, then this gets swept under the rug for another week.

Now this was an example of something good--4 down linemen, Chinn in the box as our nickel back.  2-3 yard run stuffed.  Luvu and Littleton as the LBs.  Line was YGM, Roy, Hoskins, and Haynes.  Strange unit but it worked.

Yeah the scheme was not making sense. We have all these picks and all this money invested in our CB group, going against a sub-par QB in Brisset, with 2 stud RBs and a power run game. So why not let our DBs do their job and cover the pass game, and bring more resources down into the box to stop the run. If you get picked apart by a Jacoby Brisset type QB, you’re fuged anyways. The scheme is holding us back.

Those are individuals though and its a generalized statement.  Generally, which implies overall, teams present a happy face.  I mean you can nitpick exceptions that counter any generalized point.  You could go to the Bengals, Lions, etc during their darkest eras and leading up to a season they are generally promoting hope, excitement, change etc.

You can find positive player PR early in Jacksonville last year.   That’s what teams and players largely present early.   Optimism. Hope.  Even if things don’t actually sit right in the back of their head.

Human nature to a degree when you are about to kick something of pending you got  some good leadership.  Moton, Shaq, CMC, Moore all seem like the types to steer the team toward the sunshine to start a season.

I just don’t think that talk means anything.  Not here or anywhere else.  And I’m not arguing anything said here is true or false.   Just the overall fact I don’t put much in the public face a team presents to kick of a season .

When the regular season was about to start or after week 1, my guess would have been Jacksonville last year or the Bucs in Schiano's last year (2013??).  If the coaching staff, especially the HC, is enough of an imbecile the players will pick up on that pretty quickly.  Schiano was a master at "that college stuff" some of which is not legal in the NFL, and the rest did not help the team win.  As for the Jags, it was Urban Meyer.  Who knows how long it took the players to conclude "this will not end well?"  The early results for both of those teams do not exactly support a lot of great belief.

But even if both of those teams were basically lost from game 1, that is some pretty rare air of coaching stupidity.

I have no idea if what is in the OP is true.  By the nature of things, some of it probably is (the truth is very rarely on one extreme or the other).  I will say this: losing wears on people's tempers.  That's when things start to leak out.  I can't imagine the players were all that happy about getting their heads handed to them week after week last week, and the coaching staff standing there like Government employees.

If any of this stuff is true, it will be tough to reverse without success.  I think the sand is running out of the hourglass for motivational speeches, "the Process is working," saying we are getting better even while we are losing, etc.  It has probably already run out for highly questionable coaching decisions and then implying the failure was on the players.  We have guys in the third year of their rookie deals, and if they are counting weeks until they can move on, we are screwed.

Was just about to post that. Seems like a lot of infighting in the Panthers if that's the case.

And apparently Jermaine Carter and DJ Moore retweeted this...

Steve Wilks is in contention against Phil Snow, primarily with the fact his defense is too light for his scheme to be any sort of effective. Snow maintains a stubborn attitude towards it:

And Rhule screwed up getting Charles Dunlap over his tryouts style roster building:

Derrick Brown got lighter to be a pass rusher, but Rhule screwed the pooch by not finding a replacement. And Chinn hates Phil Snow:

Brian Burns wants out and none of our veterans likes this regime:

But most starking of all, Phil Snow is the one with Rhule all the time speaking to Tepper. God.

If true, this explains why the D has gone to sh-t. It’s going to be a long season.

This is what happens when you allow the GM from the previous failing regime to hire your HC for the future. That job s/h been left up to the new GM.

GMs and HCs in large part should be married.  Hurney should of left when Ron did

There was some pretty scathing reporting last December.   If Person’s reporting was true then…..it’s not hard to imagine there hasn’t been a large shift in views/feelings.

yeah, we added Tabor and Wilks.  Solid coaches.   But Wilks is position coach.   And probably pretty limited in the grand scheme. Lot of folks above him that he doesn’t really know coming in.  And the same reporting highlights Rhule’s method of micromanagement. And since then more reporting has come out that Rhule had his thumbprint all over the O last year which further reinforces Rhule rules all.   Rhule’s thumb is on everything.  Which would make sense as to why we  are so dysfunctional.  If someone is unqualified and puts his thumbprint on everything about the team….you are going to look like the Panthers have.

I don’t know if this reporting is true.  Safe bet a lot aren’t happy with Matt Rhule.   And I would assume In typical Rhule fashion….things will get worse as the season goes.

One of the tweets mentioned that Rhule's insistence on guys "earning" positions hindered Fitterer's effort to sign Carlos Dunlap.

Just now, Mr. Scot said:

Not sure I buy that on our current scenario since Rhule was here first.

Just talking in general. GM should hire the HC.

and if you have a shaky GM and fire your HC…..start all the way over.  That would have been Hurney going with Ron.
