When was our last kickoff return for a TD and when was it?

Rod Smart. He was a RB/Returner for us that got the name he hate me from his time in the now-defunct XFL where players could put whatever they wanted on their jersey name.
I've always been a Panthers fan since they started in 1995, but I never cared until last season. I moved back here from AZ to live with my Dad, and I decided I would go with him to watch the football games. I immediately fell in love with the game, the team, and the players, specifically Steve Smith. I didn't start watching because they were kicking ass. I started watching from the first Pre-Season game, not quite knowing what to expect. But it turned out to be a REALLY good season to become the biggest Panthers fan in my family, next to my Uncle.

The only time I ever watched intently before 2008 was the 2003 SB. Living in AZ at that time, it was hard to get the games. But I watched the SB on a 120 inch screen

But my point is that I hear my Dad refer to "He Hate Me" all the time, and I have never asked him who he was talking about. Rod Smart, huh?

    • He has the physical traits to be a #1, but I do agree with you that after 5 years in college you’re probably about what you are in the NFL. A very solid #2 at pick 32 is fine. If we get a garret Wilson type on the other side he will only look better
    • For sure, I just think it takes an elite QB to get the ball to his weapons if the OL play is bottom 5 bad. Obviously Stroud isn’t there yet which is why I brought up Burrow. He’s the only QB in the NFL putting up elite numbers with a bottom 5 OL. There’s a level guys have to get to before they can do what Burrow is doing and Stroud’s not there yet but he could eventually be there. Right now Stroud is a good QB when he’s put in a position with a good OL and an average QB when he has bad OL play. I don’t think he’s regressed, the situation is just different. You just hope he doesn’t pick up bad habits. As for Young, next year is the deciding year. Canales is setting him up to succeed by putting him in good situations (sans Dallas game) but since he was the number one pick we should definitely want more than a system QB. Purdy proved you can get one of those with the last pick in the draft. I will say that since the Munich game Young has a TD/TO ratio of 10/4 which translates to a 28/11 ratio over a full 17 game season. Stroud was at a projected ratio of 29/7 over a full 17 game season last year. So not a huge gap between the two if things remained constant.
    • And, I forgot to add this- your real estate agent wants the projects done because there's a higher commission at stake. Your banker wants you to have the HELOC because it's making the bank money. I'm fairly certain the interest on a HELOC is still a tax deduction, only if used to improve the property. People used to carry a HELOC as a form of ready cash, when all interest was a deduction. Thanks to Trump and his Tax Cuts & Jobs Act of 2017, in order to pay for the tax cuts for the wealthy, the allowances for tax deductions on mortgage interest and HELOC interest was changed significantly, effecting mostly middle-class home owners. We carried a HELOC for several years, used it basically to keep it active. We refinanced our mortgage some years back and had to pay off the HELOC prior to closing the re-fi. Since then, it's not been used and we finally closed to account just a couple months ago. Remember, the HELOC is using your home as collateral, therefore the lending institution becomes a lienholder on your property. A deed is filed with the county Register of Deeds and the bank becomes part owner of you property as long as that account remains open, balance or no balance. Personally, with rates being what they are, I'd be inclined to search out a project card, bank card or other line of credit that would give you 90 days or 6 months interest free. You'd be avoiding high interest rates and the only reason you'd need to pull from your cash reserve would be to pay off whatever balance there may be when the 90 days or 6 months come up and an interest hit is imminent. I replaced my HVAC system in 2019 to the tune of $9k. I wasn't prepared for it and, although I had the cash, the HVAC company offered 6 months no-interest with their Wells Fargo financing.  I think I gave them 50% up front, financed the remainder and paid it off at the 6-month mark.
