The story is only plausible if he was snorting the coke off some strippers ass, everyone knows thats how you do it in the strip club. if this bit of information can be confirmed i'll buy it.

I promise you guys that I heard this story from a friend of mine that I work with last week. I checked all the news and couldn't find anything about it. I thought it was all bullshit so I didn't post anything. Once I heard the details that have came out, the story I heard seems much more plausible. It at least was worthy of posting... I cannot assure you that Dante Rosario was involved or that cocaine was involved... but that's the story I heard and I believe it a lot more now than I did on the day I heard it.

We know very little about what these guys do in their personal time. Could be absolutely false, and yet I could also see it being true.

They were in a place of ill repute, you know. I'm sure they weren't there to feed the homeless or speak to sick children.

Beason doesn't strike me as someone who'd be involved with cocaine use.

If I hear he's failed a league drug test, then I'll buy it.

Not true... all I claimed was that I heard this story well before any of this went public. I never claimed that the story was absolutely true...

Eeeehhhh, not really.

Here's his story:

Word is that Dante Rosario was snorting coke with some stripper and some guy walked in and witnessed this, then the same dude starts talking poo about Rosario. Later in the night, the same guy found Rosario again and was talking poo again. Dante then tries to swing at the guy, but doesn't hit him flush. Then the dude clocks Rosario. Beason sees this happen from across the club and runs over like a crazed animal and begins beating the poo out of the guy who downed Rosario.

Here's the story from the lawsuit as printed in The Herald (link):

The suit alleges battery and intentional infliction of emotional distress, and contains charges that the incident began with Frye accusing Beason of cocaine use.

According to the lawsuit, Frye and Beason crossed paths at the Uptown Cabaret the night after the Panthers' win over Atlanta. The suit said that Frye mentioned to tight end Dante Rosario that he thought he saw Beason using cocaine at a party on Lake Norman last summer. After that, Beason's bodyguard approached Frye, indicating that the linebacker was upset. Beason then followed with what was described as an “obscenity-laced tirade.”

The suit then states that Frye wanted to go outside to talk about the disagreement, at which point Beason “hit him with a crushing right blow to his left eye/nose area,” which was followed by a kick to the ribs and at least one more punch.

Those don't really match up, especially the parts about Rosario actually doing cocaine and starting the fight.

By the way, my favorite part of the article:

Beason's attorney, George Laughrun, called the suit “fantasy land” and said Beason looked forward to going to court.

George Laughrun is a trip. If he makes that statement to the press, then he knows they can win. I like the comment he made earlier in the week when asked by Tony Burbeck about the situation - "It is what it is".

I bring an update on the "story." I found out who it was exactly that started passing around this info... it was from a guy that I trust pretty well; he's a smart guy that has his poo together. He claims that he is friends with the guy that was assaulted. This story was first told the day after the fight. Mind you, nothing was on the internet about this incident at the time.

And to those of you saying the story isn't even close to the truth. I was the first one to mention that Dante Rosario was involved and I was also the first to mention cocaine being involved and I never claimed the story was absolutely true. You guys should stop bitching about how it's not exactly as the lawsuit says it went down; you never know, when all is said and done... my version of the story may be the most accurate.\

On a related note, did you guys notice how terrible beason was in the game against Miami the very next week? I didnt stop by the boards much after that game but Beason shot the wrong gap it seemed like every time and let Ricky Williams just roll all over us... I'm sure now that it had to do with this poo.
