I think this was my Sophomore year, so 2002-2003, don't remember the actual fraternity. I'm just thinking, that he sounds like an instigator. You know him better than we all do, is he not?

He is not really an instigator to be honest, when he used to run circles with the rugby team back in the early 2000's, they would start fights constantly and he would be around it. Now-a-days he doesn't ever get in fights. He just has a big mouth and that's what got this started, I was there though and he definately got hit first. 2003 is when i graduated and i remember the Chi-Phi thing happened around that time. How did it go down? was he collecting the door money ect? i probably know this story.

The Difference is, nobody actually cares about a "fake panther" and what they do, where-as they do with Beason....And KB...who is your roomate that fought Greg? Is this the Chi-Phi thing from like 10 years ago?

Yeah, but it doesn't matter if he actually is a Panther or not. If he claims to be a Panther and then acts that way, he reflects as poorly on the franchise as if he were really a player.

I have no clue. The guy wasn't my roommate at the time, but I just remember being there in the back of a huge circle of people watching the fight and hearing beer bottles breaking.

I agree, but looking at it from his angle, why would he care because he doesnt. Whereas Beason is paid to care. Thats what I'm trying to say I guess. Greg can get all the Beni's of the being a Panther at a club and not have to give two craps about what people see, because noone obviously knows who he is or is paying attention, whereas beason is very recognizeable.

You're sticking up for a guy being a complete and total douche.

Good job.

You weren't there, he does deuchey things for sure but Beason definately out-deuched him on this one. Beason shouldn't be around Coke if he doesn't want it talked about, either way its no reason to hit a guy especially if you are a high profile person. You already have your mind made up and aren't open to both sides so its an erroneous conversation. He shouldn't have been telling beason's coke story i agree, but Beason should have talked it out with him not attacked him in a Titty Bar....also here is something you won't see on TV, he was Jumped by Beason AND Dante Rosario. The magistrate won't give him both warrants for whatever reason IDK. Beason is 237Lbs or so, why does he need Dante to help him? That's some Deuchebag poo right there.

Yeah, this guy sounds like a bonafide jackass. At first I was sort of disappointed to hear it happen, but I'm starting to think Beason did all of humanity a favor.

Hahahah he probably did, but either way he's going to have to pay the toll for his charity work.

Looper were you there to witness all of this or are you believing a story Greg Frye told you?

But I know the waitress that works there she lived in my building a few years back and still keep in touch with her, she told me about the story before greg did and both of their stories matched up. The only thing i can't get clear is if it was Dante he said doing the Coke or if it was beason, the girl said she thought he said beason, he says it was dante, so i tend to beliee it was dante, aparently dante swung on him and missed she said and he elbowed him as they were falling down and then beason saw this and jumped over the table and through some people and pummeled him. This is a pretty accurate account of what went down. I was at strike city earlier and saw greg there talking with beason and them, they all left to go to Uptown Caberet, I stayed at strike city because titty bars aren't my thing. So again i didnt' physcially see it, but i have stories that matched up from greg and the waitress the day after it all happened.

    • Strange, every news article and tweet I just searched all mentioned waivers. It is definitely his sixth year of at least 6 games. All I was trying to think of earlier was at the vet min could he beat out Bryce in camp next year lol. He's kinda got the old Darnold issue where he can obviously launch deep balls and qb run at a level Bryce will never achieve, but it sounds like he would be content being like a Josh Allen backup who doesn't throw the whole game plan out the window if he has to come in for a series or two. If we had him and for some reason still wanted to start Bryce he would kinda do what Justin Fields was doing the other night with Dangeruss, coming in for designed runs and maybe some play action/triple option rpo things to go deep. That would be so obvious and sad though. At least Russ can still sling it 40 yards in the air with a flick of the wrist
    • Too late to edit above but the quote is from this Diane Russini article in the Athletic: https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/5941684/2024/11/23/russinis-what-im-hearing-the-day-the-jets-fell-apart-and-the-broncos-rallied-belichick-best-fits/ Okay.. there you have sorry I left that out the first post.  Also waivers keep the contract intact. That is the major difference in released and waived. It's all in that link from the other post.
    • Okay so I am reading something in The Athletic and it says that Jones had to pass through waivers. So I don't know. I looked this stuff up when we were number one there all offseason and I thought it said 4 years in the league got you vested, as they call it.  Vested gets you out of waivers as I understood it. I probably got something wrong, but when I think about the slack quality of journalism these days I wonder about that. So I went and looked, again. Well, well.  For everyone: "When a player has accrued at least four seasons in the NFL, they are considered a vested veteran. When these vested veterans get cut, they are released and their contract is terminated. When a vested veteran is released, they are an unrestricted free agent that can sign with any NFL team, and the team that released them doesn’t need to provide any additional compensation." It runs it all down here, where the quotes came from: https://www.profootballnetwork.com/waived-vs-released-nfl/ As far as Jones, the team turned down his 5th year option so I knew that meant he had 4 years in, because they re-signed him anyway, after turning down the much cheaper extra year.  The Athletic is owned by the New York Times so I shouldn't be surprised. That paper was an institution once upon a time but they let their standards go.
