Im not sure knocking over a defensive player should ever be declared a negative play. It didnt help Moton, but Elf's job there is to hit the closest man since he didnt have anyone in front of him. He knocked over the DT and the DT fell over into Clowney and Moton.

I cant think of what else you would ask of Elf in that situation...

Was just pointing out that even when Elflein has a good play, he finds a way to fug things up 😛

Let me have my scapegoat dammit! Every Huddler needs one! 😭

its funny bc we ran a lot of play action plays, the Browns just didnt bite. It's possible its due to the fact we just didnt hand it off much, ha. My only defending statement there is that most of the botched snaps were running plays. So that was 3-5 less run plays we were able to run.

We didn't really establish any reason for them to bite on it early.  It is one of those things you have to set up, and given the expectations coming into the game, it would have only taken a few more early runs (especially if they gained yardage) to give them a pause.  As it was, we were sort of like having Dan Fouts run play action with the Chargers.  Yeah, great, but everybody knows you aren't handing the ball off.

People are mentioning Christenson, and part of what people miss is even the best young OL develop, usually both in technique and physically.  Well, the ones that don't last may not, but everybody else does.  BC is not an idiot, mouth-breathing pure mauler, so he probably knew prior to being drafted what he needed to do on all counts.  The fact that he did it should not be a surprise.  Perhaps the extent, but not the fact he did.

Very well put. The one piece about BC... if he commits to being a guard and adds some more weight... oh man. This guy is going to cost us some money. I will hold my horses, but if what we saw on sunday continues... hats off to Fitt/Rhule for waiting it out and grabbing this guy.

Does somebody need to point out to Monty that Clowney has Moton in Baker's lap during the throw and was what forced Baker to get it out?

Don't get me wrong, bad throw, but how are we going to say that he came off of DJ too early when Clowney's got a paw in his face?

When Baker looks off of Moore, there isn't anyone in his face. And even at the point where he threw the ball, he could have climbed the pocket. I'm not even certain what he saw on the right side that he was throwing at. I get Moore was 1 vs 2, but he should have waited until after Moore's cut or gone back to him after looking right.

Yeah PA is actually detrimental if you don't set up the run first. We would have been better using draws but you still face two of the best DEs in the game either way. Defense really needed to win this game because of how good the Browns DEs we're and they didn't.

Which coach was it that used PA to setup the run instead of setting up the pass? Was that Mike Martz? I feel like it was a Lions coach.... mid 2000s

Great content thanks. Either Baker and the rest of the offense just need more time together to clean these issues up or we may also have to face the reality that this could be who Mayfield is. He has the talent but he has been very up and down through his career to this point and that is why he was available. I like the fire but he also needs to just let his game speak for itself from here on. I've heard enough trash talk. Show us what you've got on the field. I am expecting a bounce back game from him and I hope it will be through four quarters this time.
