I'm willing to bet that plenty of teams had guys on some sort of juice at the time. And were we actually using real steroids? I thought it was just a cream or something.

As a person I feel bad for him. You can't make it this far without pride, and confidence in yourself and to fail has to be a humbling experience. It's easy for people to say stuff like "well he made millions of dollars and I never will". But to have that drug of playing in front of thousands of people, can't be replaced in RL. Thats why Bret Farve couldn't let it go and most pro athletes play longer than they should.

I have seen people with more talent play with a lot less heart than him. I think everyone can say, when he was playing good he was really good. When he was playing bad he was really bad. But it is undeniable that he up to this point has been our most successful QB. However .. he is done as a pro QB at least right now, but at least he has other interest (horses, and farm stuff) to keep him busy.

Damn right I feel bad for him...Jake has been nothing but class...but the reality is that he will be 35 next year and he would be a darn good backup for our next qb.

I suspect he is done this year but as for his career, that is not so clear. He wouldn't be the first quarterback who is replaced as a starter and emerges later on either with that team or somewhere else. Life is long for sure. Even if he never plays another down, I agree with those who say that he has had a better run than most folks and probably has acheived more than he thought he would. Regardless of whether this is it or not, once the disappointment of this year is over, he will return to be lots of folks favorite panther's quarterback.

I do feel bad for the man, but he needs to get out of the game or go somewhere else. After the Arizona game, I was less scared that Jake lost his mojo and more scared that NFL defenses were able to find a very vulnerable part of his play.

If he gets released, which he probably won't, he'll be doing backup time with another team.
