Refs screwed us

They overcame a downright sh1tty performance, which I thought was impossible until the 4th qtr. Like I said earlier, the roughing call hurt but I can live with it. However, that spike was intentional grounding, was flagged and overturned. In the end, it cost the game…

Matt Rhule post game said he didn't believe the Browns could get in FG position in a minute.  He must not watch a lot of football then.  Because NFL teams routinely pull that off at the end of games. 

and the dope was left at the end of the game w/ a timeout.  Should of used it like the Broncos did week 1 in the Super Bowl rematch. 

Yes, the refs sucked.  Yes, they botched calls that last drive.  Refs botch calls.  They do it all game, in every game. 

In the end the better team won.  It is what it is.  But it would have been nice if they at least got the fake spike right.  Maybe if Matt Rhule knew how bad they botched it like he said....he should of gone apeshit in game on the refs about it and tired to get something done.  Didn't see that happen either.   That was the game.  And he didn't seem to care that much IMO. 

Who gets credit for coming back and making it a game? Seriously, I’m not sold on Rhule either, but to blame this loss on him is just fuging blind hatred.

This is what gets me, they realized after they made the call that it ended the game with a runoff. Forget about how crappy we played or whatever most people are trying to counter with, at its core, that penalty was a game ender. These grey area penalties are nothing but ways for the NFL to nudge games in the direction they want.

I mean, the loss is on Matt Rhule.  He had a very poorly prepared team.  He had a very poor gameplan on both sides of the ball.  He had poor in game management. That's reality. 

Now, could we of walked out with a win if the refs did their properly on the final drive? Sure. 

But too much gets put on final drives scenarios and refs.  Refs impact the game w/ bad calls from start to finish.   You can't leave it up to the refs to get one call right or wrong at the end.   

What Carolina did for 59 minutes got them the L.

It is 100% Rhule’s fault, there is no doubt about that. But we also got screwed by the refs on the last drive. Not mutually exclusive.

I loved this from the Raleigh Observer (?):

Rhule even walked away with a timeout in his pocket after the Panthers got the ball back with 8 seconds to go, for all the world looking like a guy pulling a Full Costanza after finding out the Nebraska job was open. If the Panthers had any trophies, he’d be dragging them around the parking lot right now. That, at least, would have been a Rhule decision fans could get behind.”

the list goes on and one but yeah, the refs ‘screwed them’.  The organization screwed themselves hiring Rhule

Not discrediting all of that, despite that we still should have won be it not for the refs. They gave this one to the Browns

      Real Mid-Season Development at QB: Bo Nix

      One has a proven, offensive-minded, Super Bowl winning head coach along with a top 5 OL + defense. He's being protected and getting the ball back not having to chase the other teams. The other had Frank Reich + Thomas Brown their rookie year with a bottom 5 defense as well as a bottom 5 OL that gave up the 2nd most sacks against a rookie QB ever. The sophomore season is being ran with a top 5 OL but also with a rookie HC (that has just one year of OC experience) and a bottom 5 defense still. The Broncos defense has allowed over 20pts just three times this season (26 vs. SEA (L), 23 vs. LAC (L), 41 vs. BAL (L)). Meanwhile, the Panthers have had ONE game where the defense gave up less than 20pts (vs. NYG (W)).   I'm not sure how folks couldn't expect Bo Nix to statistically perform better given their incredibly different situations. With that said, I didn't expect Nix to keep ascending as impressively as he has this season. Hopefully his arc will give other older college QBs a better shot, especially given the recent media blitz against the NFL regarding how development of the QB position in the league seems to be non-existent. Hopefully Bryce continues to improve as well, of course.

It doesn’t matter. Just finding the right way to go with the ball.” To that point, Nix noted how his developing partnership with head coach Sean Payton has helped Denver’s offense get to the next level. “To be honest, I think at the beginning, you kind of make the NFL bigger than what it actually is,” Nix said when asked where he feels he’s made the most strides. “These players are really good, but at the same time, you have really good players on your level. I think simplifying the game, trying to play as fast as possible, and finding a completion, which is what we’ve been able to do here recently. “I think as we’ve gone on, Coach and I have found a good rhythm of what we both like, what we can kind of put out there on the field, and what we can execute. Then the guys have kind of adapted to it, found our roles within the offense, and executed at a high level. It’s just all about slowing the game down and processing things in a manner that you can handle. Just kind of see one or two things, and let those guys take you to where the ball is supposed to be.” -Bo Nix From what I'm gathering regarding Bryce, the Panthers entered this season with a reset mindset. It's Young's rookie year, which explains the benching. Now, we're beginning to see the development of Canales and Young's offense. Slow development but we're winning 😃

      Bix has more tds through his first 11 games than bryce has his entire career....no comparison at all he made amazing throws during his first games his decision making just keeps getting better.  Young does not have the physical ability ro make the rhrows bo makes
