The casting of some of the aged roles is laughable. For example in tonight's show, the one eyed prince looks older than the guy that is supposed to be his older brother. How some of the other characters don't look like they've aged a day despite the series jumping years between each episode is just as sad. That said, they've done an excellent job of aging and wasting away the king. He must have gotten most of the SFX budget.

I think I'm out on the show. Yeah, some civil war BS is coming but the show is just too drab. It's 55 min of Downton Abbey with 5 min of tension, action, plot to keep you interested. I think I've lost my interest.

Basically, the whole thing is a lead-up to what kills all the dragons and destroys the Targs away from the throne for what we know is in play for GOT

The action is a-comin'

Indeed it is coming. However, dance of the dragons will play out over a couple of seasons. No way they do it all in 2 episodes.

We've been enjoying it, even with the subtitles turned on.  Yes, it's not as action-packed as GOT, but there's nothing wrong with a little bit of political maneuvering to set the stage.

There are WAY too many characters named Aegon.  Can barely tell who's who without a printed family tree

(and there are supposed to be even more children running around that they haven't had a chance to introduce yet)

The actor-changing is what makes it hard to like. We fell in love with Arya, Jon, Jaime, etc. from day one. Meanwhile on HOTD we've had characters played by 3 different actors in eight episodes. Not to mention, as time went on, nobody like Daenerys on GOT. And dragons, big deal. No one cares about these blonde-headed psychos.

I pretty much think HOTD was created for straight females and straight females only. Downton Abbey with a bad boy with soap opera drama. That's their jam.

If they're going to make a series out of a story that even casual fans already know the ending to, I'd prefer it were something like Aegon's Conquest. With this current show, we're basically watching the great Targaryen Empire go out with an pedo-incestuous whimper. 

Also, did they ever explain why Rhaenyra and Harwin's kids all had dark hair, but Viserys and Alicent's all had white hair? Are there different rules for genetics in Westeros?

HOLY CRAP.  Even expecting likely scenarios and situations, didn’t expect exactly that.  Close, but not that.

Quit after episode 3, started watching tonights episode. How in the name of Vishnu do you change actors to advance the storyline, yet leave at least 3 of the actors unchanged? Its just stupid that the princess now has 27 kids, yet Daemon is still the same? The exact same actor?

he did change his hairstyle.

but also, you can't have the same (22 year old actress) 14-year-old princess age-up over a 20 year timeframe without significant behind the scenes work.  Daemon was supposedly around 31 years old in epi 1 -- so it's still somewhat reasonable for the same actor to play the 51-year-old version of themselves in epi 9.
