How good a coach is Stefanski?

I know the default answer for some is going to be "better than Matt Rhule" but I'm looking for something a little deeper than that.

Rhule comparisons aside, if you've seen him coach over the last few seasons, what's your opinion?

Like most coaches when he has a franchise qb and good talent he does well like in 2020. But when he doesn't he is not good enough to scheme around it. Watch what happens with Brissett today.

Baker did that.  He carried them quite a bit that year.  When Baker got injured last season, their playoff hopes went down the toilet.  People forget just how good Baker was in 2020.

Overrated. Never used his talent effectively. Abandoned the running game. Very chud like when he was with the panthers.

Agree.  A lot of their big wins in 2020 were shootouts where Baker had to save their butts.  It’s no coincidence that they sputtered in 2021 with an unhealthy Baker.

Don't know much about him but from what I'm seeing written sounds like he is marginal at very best. At least he will have him a perverted ass franchise QB who hasn't played in forever because of his deviant ways to take over here in about 11 games. I bet he still misses playoffs and is out in Cleveland within a year or so.

Another note…. If we think Rhule is the worst for blaming players, Stefanski is gonna request that you hold his beer….

Haven’t really followed him much, but i know if he has any common sense he’ll run the ball until we show we can stop it.

No he won’t. That’s been his biggest failure at Cleveland. He abandons the run almost immediately and never goes back to it.

iirc players with the Vikings didn’t like him. Maybe diggs? Similar to how baker didn’t. From what I was by a player that KS doesn’t allow his qbs to change the plays. Everything is what he says and there’s no room for change. Baker has been allowed to audible since college. It’s hindering his game not letting him do it.

 

he also loves scheming around tightends. Even when their te room wasn’t stellar.
