torn acls have a pretty high recovery rate these days.  Burrow bounced back big time and Thomas Davis tore his what 3 times??

There is a typical recovery time period though. Often don't start getting back to 100% for 9+ months.

Just depends on OBJ's body and how dedicated he was to the rehab.

Oh yeah there is definitely a recovery time period.  Hurting his so late in the post season makes this year tough.  However an ACL tear isn't what it use to be.  If anyone was interested in him for more than this season, I wouldn't worry too much about it.

So he had the same splits as a no 3 as he did as a no 1?

Interesting.

He wasn't much of a #1 in CLE, which was sort of the problem there. He couldn't produce on the stat sheet,  he made several timely drops, and eye test looked like he wasn't trying. He never wanted to be in Cleveland and it showed long before the stories of him wanting out started to hit the media.

You could see in his play in LA, from his first game, he was trying harder. If I recall correctly, his first pass was still a drop though 😉

That is the feeling I got.  Apparently when his father jumped it, it went nuclear. Has OBJ been a good teammate anywhere he has been?

What most don't realize about OBJ is that he's popular in NFL locker rooms. If anything that's actually part of the problem.  The "cancer" label came about because teams think thinks he's a bad influence on his teammates. NY specifically started telling young guys to stay away from him behind his back. Most of Cleveland's locker room sided with him in that rift.

In Panthers terms he's not Steve Smith bullying his teammates. He's like if Cam had been getting into nonsense off the field and was vocal about criticizing the organization.

Just not good money to pay him to rehab. The original suggesti9n was the he was cut, wasn't  and then moved to why no one signed him, "he won't be able to play until late season."

Are you claiming he had less targets per game with the Rams? He didn't.

His complain was that he wasn't targeted enough or at least that was the complained put out by his father.

He was targeted more as the no 3 receiver on the Rams and had a higher catch rate and 5 more TDs.

We can agree that he isn't the guy he was when he was with Manning, but also accept that he had a pretty big turn around when joining the Rams. And a team will certainly pick him up once he's able to pass a physical.

He'll probably get him.

Week Two is when a lot of unsigned veterans come off their couches because their full season salaries aren't guaranteed anymore.

Given how the team looked last night though, Beckham might not be the cure all some might think.

I'm thinking they will as well. But they'd definitely be smart to not be on the hook paying an injured guy who doesn't get right.

That is the thing. Guys who complain about the organization and undermine the coach or qb can still be very popular in the locker room essentially voicing what others are thinking and reinforcing negative feelings.

His catch percentage went from an awful 50% with the Browns to a bad 56% with the Rams. It wasn't a big turn around. His yards per catch also dropped by more than 2 yards per catch so his percentage should go up. He averaged .6 more catches for the Rams and .6 less yards.

He did have a good run in the playoffs, he likes the spotlight. He also had more TDs with the Rams ands that is very important to him. He turned his back on the offense after Njoku caught a TD pass and Baker ran over to him and said he was sorry and to be patient his will come and he just sulked away instead of joining in celebrating with his team mates.

He is beloved by most players. An icon. He isn't a good team player.

As far as his career drop off, that started after his rookie season. His catch percentage never came close to that again. His ypc fell after his second season. Statistically he has been nothing special since 2015. With enough targets he still puts up numbers but many WRs can do that with enough targets. Good job, 130 targets, 70 catches for 1000 yards.

    • At this rate, maybe he'll be a decent 8-9 QB on his 3rd HC by year 6. Standards are so low around here now. Tepper has done some serious damage to the fan base.
