I won’t even get into how terrible refereeing is in almost every sport. But I’m seeing the MLS explode in popularity and even David Tepper knows it. Football is old and dated. Aside from players dealing with horrendous long lasting brain injuries, the broadcast model is trash. I hate sitting through 80% commercials during a football game. Without the red zone channel and the poor performance of the Panthers year after year I don’t even think I’d watch the NFL anymore. MLS games are wildly better to watch on TV and in person. Only ONE commercial break at halftime.

into an inferior product by owners with pie charts who are going to squeeze every penny out of what the charts say with no regard for the enduring popularity of the sport after they’ve moved on from the team and don’t have a financial stake in it
