They are and have been for the last several years. Their only downfall has been QB play.

If CMC stays healthy (which I put at a 0% chance of happening) and wins comeback player of the year, this team makes the playoffs

The thing that made NOLA dangerous was the HOF QB/Coach combo.  Neither of which are there.

Weve seen talented rosters with questionable QB/Coach and the word wasn’t “loaded”.

Saints will never win with James Winston, the interception machine.

Exactly. But as I said in the NFCS thread their roster is still superior. So is their FO even with the losses. Though, I don’t think the get near the SB. And despite more echoing of Brady is old and will fall apart, I promise you he won’t. He will compete. We will look like trash agains him.

People who think Panthers have any chance are really delusional. The Falcons appear to be doing nothing substantial in areas that matter after failing to get Watson, but I suspect they planned for a suspension and we’re always tanking the right way anyways. Especially with money situation. I truly envy them. It’s what 2020 should have been for the Panthers.

Meanwhile the Panthers and their fans seem to love their 7/8 win mediocrity scratching and clawing, securing third place in the division and lose out yet again to a nice pick.

The Falcons will end up with their franchise QB by doing thngs right day 1 of a rebuild while per usual Panther fans will be screaming never surrender and tanking is for losers when playing playoff teams’ back ups and Rhule will get an unheard of 4th year and beyond because our owner is smarter then everyone else, charging full steam into the worst stretch of Panther history and solidifying this franchise as the modern Browns.

Neither of those teams will be in the nfc championship game.  What an awful prediction

Packers lost Adams but gained a lot defensively and Rodgers is likely still able to play at his MVP level, I wouldn't bet against them being in the NFCCG. Don't see them winning it all but they've made the championship game 2 of the last 3 years and were very close last year too.

Aints obviously ain't making it, King is drunk

Sorry, I cannot see the Saints getting to the NFC CG with Jameis Winston at QB, especially without Sean Payton.

Remember what the Saints were before Payton and Brees? They might be heading back there.

I'm not saying that to talk poo. I full well know we basically currently reside there ourselves.

I predicted a huge drop for the saints, I think this is officially their crater, and I said that a while back and still believe it.  I think they do alright early, as season wears their vets break, they plateau, then crater at the end.  Basically they're the panthers 2019.

Tanking is for losers. Just look at your post. It just screams loser. It sounds like a loser wrote it. Anyway, which teams tanked and became Super Bowl contenders because of it? I honestly don't know, but off the top of my head I can't think of any that purposely tanked for a year and came out significantly better for it.

Maybe that's how the Bucs, Chiefs, Packers, Bills, Patriots, Steelers are/were always in the conversation as Super Bowl contenders over the last decade? Because they tanked for a year and look at them now. Idk. You tell me.

Saints lost at least 2 key players. One was traded to Eagles and the other is involved with serious legal issues.

Kamara won't be suspended until 2023 season at earliest.  His legal team delayed , delayed, delayed so he can still play.

Losing Gardner-Johnson is a pretty big loss but that defense is pretty stacked.

The bigger question mark to me now is the offensive line.  They don't have Armstead anymore and Andrus Peat is awful.   No clue who is replacing Armstead either because their rookie tore his big toe ligament.

Offense is talented at skill positions but I don't expect them to be a top 10 unit.

They will live and die by their defense.   I'd expect Carolina-NO to have a similar record at the end of the year.

I think the Saints may benefit from being in the same division as the Falcons and Panthers, in fairness. That's 4 possible wins by just playing cellar dwelling teams.

TBD but even with their situation not being good, they are still in better shape than the Falcons and us(very unfortunately).

I just don't think I see two playoff berths coming from the South, even with that additional playoff spot.
