Official 2023 QB Watch

Van Dyke & McCall interest me the most after Young who I think size regardless, he is a pure QB.  He makes pressure situations look easy. He's just smooth as mentioned.

Not entirely on the Stroud train, Levis' is older and still has fundamentals to improve.  Richardson may not opt for the draft yet.

I am VERY interested to see how Jake Haener does against USC today.  He's got a lot of talent.

Three of the four will be out of our range. I'm okay with that, because there's a dude balling out under the national radar in Conway, SC.  At this early juncture I am circling my 1st rounder as TE Micheal Mayer.  Then, if we need a QB, get him in the second and McCall should be there.  Why?  We will not be a top 15 pick unless the wheels absolutely come off.  It's early, but the TE class is looking thin and Mayer is the dude we need to replace Greg Olsen.  Get the guy we need.  What about Tremble?  If dude can't beat out Ricci beyond this year as our H-back, then we have a serious problem with Tommy.  No matter how this staff tries to prop up Ian Thomas, dude will never be more than a JAG.  Let him play his contract out and move on.

Looking like they all will be in our range now. 2 weeks in now, I'm thinking we are a top 3 pick team. Anthony Richardson is definitely out as a top guy after a few weeks but any of the other top 3 should be within our reach.

None of these guys minus Young really had strong performances. Haener looked good until his nasty injury then Fresno got blown out.

Young’s ints weren’t bad, think he was kind of just slinging it in their route

Hall played great in their loss to Oregon. Sure wasn’t his fault

Haven't really followed; will have to check him out.

Grayson McCall is peaking my interest

VD and Levis have come down to reality a bit after getting a bit too much offseason hype.  Same with Richardson.

Yes.  He's flying under the radar because he's in the Sunbelt conference playing at CCU and I'm completely okay with that.

It’s a tough spot though. You don’t draft him in the top 5, but it’s one hell of a risk to wait until early round 2 to take him…

Correct.  First round Micheal Mayer.  Round 2, McCall.  Now if we suck bad enough to be a top 10 pick, but not top 3, trade back.  Lord knows we are in a pick deficit next draft and could use the extra selections..

If someone like the Bucs draft McCall late in the first it would ruin everything. It just take ones team to like a young signal caller like McCall. If we could pull it off it would be great, but if we think McCall is our future QB we might trade down a little and “reach” for him.

He is video game accurate.  I love watching his highlights.  He throws similar to mahomes in regards to his different arm angles

Have you looked at his stats?  Very impressive!   You know pundits are going to poo his conference and the competition, but that's cool, that means he should be there in the 2nd round.

It's VERY early.  Let's see how this all shakes out.

Momentum seems high for Young, Stroud, McCall, and this Hall

Neutral for Levis

Down for Van Dyke, Richardson

The only one remaining that could rise into conversation is KJ Jefferson.  6'3 235, 4.6, he's built like a light linebacker, quick & tight release, mobile, he goes through progressions well, and seems accurate deep.

The rest don't really seem worth it.  But at this rate, the convo should basically be Stroud v. Young.  Levis isn't at their level.
