Yeah that would be why it may not be a possibility. RBs tend to break after a historic year like he had in that run.

Running backs in general are at a higher risk for injury than every other position on the field. It’s why we need to continue to rest him appropriately and utilize him in a hybrid WR role. He has better hands than pretty much everyone on the team.

CMC is the most wasted player in franchise history up with cam. Every time he is put in the slot or route he burns anyone covering him. The fact he is used like a bowling ball is truly mind blowing.

All true but that should have happened years ago thus my expectations. RB that have a career and record type year that he had usually fall into ruin soon after. It's not just the millage but how fast they add it on in a short span that can speed that up. He would need to prove the exception which would be great just not expected by me at this point.

But he wants to be a RB lol.

Yeah we could have made that guys career twice as long and productive but nope, just run him like the freak he is until he is nothing more than a workout master sitting on IR.

I have a feeling he indeed will be stunting on all these hos all season long.  Hes due for a healthy, monster year this season.  Its not like hes had any major, surgery requiring injuries like an ACL or a torn Achilles or anything...its just been a bunch of nagging bullshit.  And I have a feeling that had we been in the hunt down the stretch these past 2 seasons, we would have seen him play more.

Yeah that’s the “catch 22” (no pun intended). He’s great bc he’s a natural talent that works hard, but he pushes his body to the limit and it breaks

I expect he will for a few games. He's always been tough, just not tough enough to keep from getting hurt.

Well hes a REALLY GOOD RB too...so you would kinda be chopping yourself off at the knees if you just made him a WR strictly.  However I could see some kinda Deebo situation, only reverse where instead of being a "Wide Back", hes a "Running Receiver".  Those quick hitters he gets almost every game right up the gut are too valuable to completely take away.  IDK....its a tough situation to be in.  Fingers crossed he stays completely healthy this year and we tear teams up on offense.  We definitely have the pieces right now to make it happen.

This... Never has I think it was frank who tried to compare him to Gurley whose knees were twine coming into the NFL....

CMC hasn't had any injuries that sap a players ability.

Someone really tried to compare CMC to Gurley lol?  TG's knee was bone on bone when he was at UGA.  Thats totally absurd.

He’s having a nice minicamp. #Panthers   Mike Kaye @mike_e_kaye · 2h Ethan Garbers, after a fumbled snap and a sack, hurls a nice ball to Dan Chisena for a 20 yard gain. He then gets tripped on a roll out. This third-string unit isn’t having the most fun week.    Joe Person @josephperson · 2h Derrick Brown said the goal is to be ready for the start of training camp. “I hope so.”   Mike Kaye @mike_e_kaye · 2h Derrick Brown (knee) hopes to be back in drills by training camp with “load management.” #Panthers   Mike Kaye @mike_e_kaye · 2h Instead of a JUGS machine, Chuba Hubbard is getting thrown to by Jack Plummer while he runs routes after practice. Nice to change things up. #Panthers   Alex Zietlow @alexzietlow05 · 1h #Panthers head coach Dave Canales said a version of this during rookie minicamp, and then was equally effusive today: This rookie class is “one of the best groups I’ve been around.” He explains what has impressed him after minicamp concluded.   Joe Person @josephperson · 1h That’s a wrap on minicamp. Panthers appeared to avoid any serious injuries. Defense had the upper hand today after offense had a big day Wednesday. See everybody in late July.   Alex Zietlow @alexzietlow05 · 1h #Panthers rookie running back Trevor Etienne was asked what he’s learned up until this point in the offseason program. His first response, with a smile: “I learned I didn’t know as much about football as I thought I did.”   just read there were multiple scuffles today
    • Mike Kaye @mike_e_kaye · 2h Christian Rozeboom broke up a pass over the middle by Bryce Young in 11 on 11. UDFA DB Isaac Gifford nearly came up with the pick. #Panthers   Alex Zietlow @alexzietlow05 · 2h 11s work: #Panthers QB Bryce Young fires a pass over the middle that’s deflected by LB Christian Rozeboom. The ball flies in the air and then slips through S Isaac Gifford’s hands for a near-INT. Young follows that up with a slant to Adam Thielen that goes for a big gain.   Alex Zietlow @alexzietlow05 · 2h Mike Jackson then picks off Young.   Mike Kaye @mike_e_kaye · 2h James Mitchell with a catch off a Bryce throw in the seam. Then Mike Jackson picks off BY9 in the flat on a target to RB Rico Dowdle. Mike read it the whole way. #Panthers   Joe Person @josephperson · 2h Mike Jackson picks off Bryce Young in the EZ. Jackson ran all the way to the other end zone. He would not have been able to do that had it been a real game. Still, nice play.
    • interesting   Mike Kaye @mike_e_kaye · 3h We’ve only been to five open workouts but it sure seems like the #Panthers prefer Brady Christensen as an OT as opposed to an IOL at least based on the small sample size.
