I know you are try to focus on the Browns vs Bengals record but that wasn't the point or really relevant.

My focus was really on the writer of the article you posted. His attempt was to point out how Mayfield talked trash to some Bengals fans, then got beat by the Bengals.....6 out of 7 isn't bad. Your focus was to make Mayfield look like a fool. Sometimes he does, no doubt. He's still the starting qb for your team ( assuming you're a Panthers fan). My opinion is that he'll take your team a lot farther than it's been in a while. Love him or hate him....question his maturity. There's no denying he's a competitor and is the best chance for the Panthers to have a winning season.

I don't believe she lied, and as much as she's tried to spin things and walk back her comments, she's never actually denied that was what he said.

So if those actually were his "exact" words, why would she spin things, or walk back her comments, or say this is being overblown?  She's a Browns reporter, and this was fresh meat.

I was disproving your statement which was false and all you can do is deflect, avoid and then insult.

Still avoiding the fact you were wrong? That's cool but it is still a fact now.

Let's be honest, if he said it he would have owned it.  He could have spun it off fine with "It's nothing personal against the Browns, I am a competitor and want to dominate every team I play.  That's the approach I take to every game."  Something to that affect, but I can't imagine someone with his personality not owning what they said...

I'm not avoiding anything....exactly what statement do you think was factually incorrect? If you think I insulted you, I apologize....or maybe I insulted the writer by assuming he was a Bengals fan. I don't know...but if you're going to point out my being wrong, please be specific. It's difficult for me, because I could be wrong once in a while.

Go back and look at your original statment that I quoted twice and why I posted proof agaisnt it. You keep focusing on the Begals game that did disprove your statement and on the rest of the article that really is not relavant but not the 49ers link. The Browns didn’t care and it didn't help him keep his job there and that is part of how we got him on a big discount. His issues are a known quantity along with his upside. It's a package deal, it is who he is and always has been. It is also what this thread is literally about.

I guess your referring to my stating that Mayfield will "own" whatever he states, and back it up. Maybe...and I'm guessing here... you are taking the position that Mayfield doesn't "own" his remarks because you are of the opinion that he lied about making that comment. That may be your opinion, but it sure as Hell is not fact. Why would he deny it, if he said it? My opinion is that the reporter was all excited and chose the words, he agreed to it, and she embellished the truth. But...that's just my opinion.

I can.... specifically if the team told him they didn't want that kind of thing out there.

I'm also very confused by what point he's trying to make...but my best guess is that he's refuting your claim that Baker always "backs up" what he says.  "If he states something, he owns it and backs it up" is what you said, and he provided a couple examples of how Baker talked trash but ended up losing the game.  Which has absolutely nothing to do with anything lol.  Baker "owning" what he said is the relevant portion to 99% of this thread about Baker vs. the reporter.

I don't care about his BS with the reporter or the drama, it's just more of the same. It is the fact you stated he backs it up and I gave 2 examples of him not backing it up as FACTS. That part. He is a trash talker and most do not back up their talk all the time, in the past there have been times he has not indeed backed it up.
