Like is said, if he doesn't back it up the locker room will not buy into his bravado because it is all bark and no bite. Talking sh!t loses its meaning if it is not backed up by action.

Of course but that's the case regardless. See our humble and reserved leader Sam Darnold. All things equal I think players are more motivated when the QB is competitive.

The players are more motivated when the qb is a baller. That's all that matters.  He could be a mute if he can deliver.  Deliver first then you earn the right to talk junk. The smack talk only excites the fans.

If it doesn't matter then there's no issue, yeah? His teammates like him.

No issue if he backs up his talk. Especially since he says "he's" going to be the one to fug them up. Kinda puts himself out there to deliver a monumental performance all by himself don't you think?

Kind of a bullshit move by Fredlund (?), they were essentially going back and forth a bit.

On the other hand, let’s stop apologizing that we exist, let’s bring some of the attitude that’s been missing since Cam’s days. Sure we might lose the game, but we need some fire on this team. I think the rest of the team loves it, but I might be wrong.

That's the part that I don't think matters outside of media and fans. I don't see anyone going easy on Sam just because he's modest.
