Theres also a chance of him taking on returns, he's looked solid in both preseason games returning almost everything. I don't really have a problem having some kinda Moore/Robbie/Shi/Higgins rotation keeping guys fresh. Guys weren't gassed from taking deep shots last year so something we'll have to account for with Baker actually willing to sling it

Yeah I think this is the most likely scenario, DJ will probably be the only wideout playing anywhere near 100% of the snaps with the others being more of a rotation. Shi will see some outside reps but Robbie 2nd on the team in playing time. Shi/Higgins will both see a fair amount in the slot.

I think there’s a chance Shi is our return man, but Roberts was signed for that reason and until/unless we see him cut I think it’s his job with Shi being the backup option there.

TMJ is really throwing a wrench into this whole situation with his availability. If Roberts makes the team you're basically looking at TMJ/Zylstra (who actually plays special teams) as your battle for the last spot. I'd personally try to trade TMJ for an interior D-line rotational guy in a perfect world. Otherwise we're gonna cut someone who won't clear waivers

4 position on that Oline has new starters.. What more did you think they could do??

Oh let's add in the Fact they brought a well respected and experienced Oline coach..

What more did you want them to do in 1 offseason??

Reality please.. Not a madden trade simulator..

They went all in on revamping the OL like they says they would. I know they will have to learn and gel together, but Erving and Elf are now strictly depth as they should be and our tackles will hopefully be set for years now.

If we beat the Browns, I hope some of you who have been upset about how reps have been distributed will quit whining.

Ohhh no. It will be “of course they beat the Browns, Watson wasn’t playing.” “We just beat a backup QB at home so no bragging” etc…

Listen. We're Panthers fans. If you deem a major problem from a year ago fixed and ready to go in August before we've seen any of these men play together or have much time to gel you are setting yourself up for heartbreak. Remember when almost everyone here rejoiced over the Matt Paradis signing? My expectations are and will remain low for the time being because I've seen this story play out before. Results first. Then we will celebrate.

We've been down that road before.  We fans have a history of doing touchdown dances only to realize we are standing at the 25 yard line.  Sometimes our own 25.

@frankw please take a breath slow down and read..

Nobody saying the problem is completely fixed..

Nobody saying it wasn't a major issue last year..

Nobody is asking you to give Matt any credit..

All we're saying is live in Reality please..

The team actually saw a problem (that has been a problem even before Rhule) and actually did something..

It is a fact the team made a effort (which we couldn't say about past regimes) to actually work on the Oline..

They brought in 4 quality players by most people opinion to replace the garbage we had last year..

They are actually giving opportunities to players they didn't last year..

They actually brought in a competent Oline coach..

You don't have to proclaim a problem is fixed to acknowledge the effort..

You don't have to forget or forgive past moves to be optimistic about moves made this season..

There is no reason to live in a fantasy world where 31 other teams have a better oline and 10 quality starters on those oline.. Just to poo on this team or (more evident) on a coach..

Again you don't have to like, trust, or believe in Rhule.. To appreciate or be optimistic about certain moves the team makes.. You can still be debbie downer and have no faith in the team but still be realistic and objective about certain moves..

Adopting a wait and see approach when assessing the state of a team coming off three consecutive five win seasons that has struggled to build a solid oline across the board for several years is living in reality...

But it was already said they were switching due to each QB getting comfortable with a Center.. Instaed of switching for chemistry purposes..

And a question is why isn't Campen catching any of this grief when it comes to Oline decision??

Because he doesn't decide who starts and this was going on before Campen got here.

If anything Campen was probably annoyed he didn't have a starting 5 work with yet. A week ago BC was battling for left tackle and now he's left guard, can't really do much until you know where he's playing

If you had been following you would have seen he was getting starter reps. I saw it at camp. He didn't get all but they were split just as it was listed on the depth chart and still is.  If he hadn't been injured I think it's safe to say he'd be taking the lions share if not all starting center snaps.  It was really only the first week of camp that he was clearly taking 2nd string snaps.

I've been here every day, reading every tweet...  I am not wrong.  He may have been giving Boze reps with who became (and should have always been the unquestioned) starring QB, but the vast majority of the reports throughout camp, even through Patriots joint practices, had Elf with the 1st string.  Even if Boze was the guy that worked most with Baker, it wasn't with the first team OL, which is what really matters.

It was yet another stupid charade from Rhule.  He also said nothing of intending to start Boze until now thatt hes injured, even if that was his plan.  He does this garbage to himself and to the detriment of our team...  like I said, my point remains, it negatively affects chemistry and continuity, and for what reason?  He did the same garbage with the OL last camp and preseason.  He plays these games, then we get to when it matters and we're rushing to try to gain some semblance of structure and preparedness, and on top of that, having to catch up lost time, not just from reps, but now injuries.

    • For the silly people that worship her it will be that.  The Coleman 'legend' thing, they did that with another fairly average player that was here and I sort of mocked or questioned the 'legend' status. Instantly caught crap for insulting someone's favorite Panther. So okay, Kurt Coleman is a Legend.
    • You allow him to compete--you all are talking as if I am proposing making him the starter. Give him a new coach, new weapons, good OL, etc. and see what happens. You are saying, "Well Damn.  It did not work for 3 guys..."  Right now, our C is injured, we lost our top 2 WRs.  Better question:  If you need a QB, Why would you not take a chance on bringing in a QB who was a former first rounder, a good arm, intelligence, mobility, youth, etc.  and see how he does out of NY--with a better OL, better running game, better receivers.  I am not saying give him a 10-year contract, I am saying give him a chance. You act like there is no improvement on offense here--it was a 2 year process, and next year is year 2.  To me, how can you sit there with Bryce and an opportunity to sign a veteran QB on the cheap comes available and you say--"Not us. We're good.  We are waiting for Patrick Mahommes."  Jone's problem is obviously mental--and he has little support.  Why is this so frigging hard to comprehend.  It is called "bottom fishing" and it is better than sitting in the boat.
    • I think we're going to fall from behind quite early and be forced to abandon the run game.  3 rushes -2 yards 1 catch -10 yards
