The Next QB...

Mr. Scot

Given my choice, draft pick would be Jimmy Claussen. Being in Weis system means he's well prepared for the pro game and might be ready to start at the next level earlier than some others might.

With that said, he's likely unattainable without some major wheeling and dealing.

I dont know if I really want a douchebag playing QB on my team

As many quality QBs as there are coming out in this draft, someone will fall. Aaron Rodgers did. Chad Henne did. Brady Quinn did (yes i still am in the belief that outside of Cleveland he could be decent). If you think about it I mean The Golden Calf of Bristol, McCoy, Bradford, Locker, Claussen, Snead, Pike. Thats a lot of guys, and this draft is top heavy in other areas. Someone will fall.

He's no franchise quarterback, but Garrard is a very smart quarterback and one of the most underrated passers in the league. I'd love to have him here.

If it still holds true, he would love to be here. Or at least live here. His wife told me that when David retires, they want to live in the Charlotte area.

I say get daunte culpepper and draft jimmy or pike and let dp start one year. I think that daunte actually has enough in him to lead a team if the rest of the team is at least decent. Think about it he was in det and oakland hhhmmm! His career took a sidetrack here and I think for a year it could be renewed. Worst case scenario he sucks and draft pick takes over. Best case he does good and we have trade bait. Ask gruden you can never have enough qbs. This is all if moore sucks though!

If Moore/Feely aren't answer, good chance Jake starts as our QB next season unless we sign someone who clearly better than delhomme.

Given jake likely is back with his contract, so if we draft a QB and that QB doesn't start right away we will have Jake as starter or whoever they sign.

If Jake snaps out of it he theoretically could be just as good as a place holder

But if that's the case, do you still use a high pick on a QB and make Moore the placeholder, or do you just stick with Moore?

Really all depends on who is running the show next year. If we are a run first team then we just need a game manager Moore might be that. If we are gonna be a Pass first team though we might want to look else where.

Like Mr. Scot, I too think getting Garrard is pretty unrealistic -- but it's nice to know that he'd like to come here if given the opportunity. I think he'd be a good quarterback for our current style of play until we could develop someone younger.

Keep McNown.

Cade McNown hasn't played professional football in years.
