First Half Recap

Corral looks like he hasn't taken any practice reps all training camp.

Ickey apparently has looked shaky, which is incredibly concerning. I really like Ickey, but I wanted Cross because he was a better pass blocker right out the gate. He needs to pick things up quicker if we are going to be halfway decent.

Dang, don't read into the negative nancies here. 2nd string D dominated the pats starters for the first quarter and a half. Second strong O minus ickey and Brady also played decent against their ones. Couldn't finish the drives, but overall very optimistic in my mind.

Ickey allowed two sacks, looked good otherwise. I think Cross had 5 penalties last game so they are all learning at this point. I don’t remember the last first round LT that came in and played flawless from the start, so I’m not too concerned. But I’m optimistic by nature.

Every one of the QBs really likes throwing to Kirkwood I've noticed. Think he'll end up the 6th WR.

Locks: DJ, Robbie, TMJ, Shi

Higgins is likely making the roster. If we keep a 6th I agree Kirkwood is probably the guy although Zylstra has looked pretty solid lately too. Saunders was reportedly having a good camp but has been invisible lately. No one else stands out as having any chance of making the roster. Really happy for Kirkwood if he does make it, after the injury last year's training camp his odds of sticking around were looking slim.

Yep. Sewell looked shaky his first action. He came along quite well last year.

I really don't know what he was thinking with the should've been pick six throw. I couldn't even tell who he was trying to throw to. He hit the Pats DB in stride right on the hands. Looked like he was throwing to him.

Watch the replay it’s not a hard on to follow. His guy was there, the LB just dropped into coverage and Matt telegraphed it the entire way staring down first read. It’s not like he was throwing to air, just a really bad decision to not move off your first read (or most likely he never saw the LB drop and just missed the coverage)

    • He can say what he feels, but he's not saying "the previous year, the team wasn't very good" he directly called his teammates out and in a way that is flat-out not true. "You are your record"? Oh ok, he's only had 3 winning seasons, but in my mind he isn't a loser, and I bet he isn't in his either - cause football is a team sport and wins and losses are on the team, even when one really bad player (Jimminy Pickles) can basically screw over everything.  And this comes on the heels of his thing about the MVP, which is fine, but also selfish. His teammates consistently went to bat for him... Just feels like he's more about himself.
    • Good point--I think this draft is great for us at this time--At the top of the draft, the DT (DEs/NTs in 3-4) are loaded.  The Edges are deep.  We need to double dip there--hoping to move back so we can add three players to that pool.  In free agency, if I were Morgan, I would focus on DBs and  ILB--fix the back end of the defense.  If he signed a S, CB, ILB, and TE, it would be cost effective.  In the draft, DE, Edge, and WR should be the priorities.  After that, OL Depth, QB depth, DB depth, RB depth.  My Free agent Targets:  TE: Juwan Johnson, Saints.  29, had over 500 yards with Saints. S: Julian Blackmon, Colts.  He will be one of the top free agents--gonna cost us, but not like an edge or WR. ILB: Tyrel Dodson, Dolphins.  80 tackles on just 854 snaps--under 27 years of age. CB: Mike Jackson, Carolina.  He is 28 and had 3 picks and was on the field at all times.  68 PFF score. NT:  best available for Evero's system.
