This is exactly what I have been saying. Now that we have a good OC who knows what he is doing, Rhule won't be micromanaging him and will stay in his lane. That is why I have been saying that things are going to be different and the whole we can't win with Rhule might be overblown.

Valid opinion.. Reasonable assumption all of it..

I choose to believe Rhule maybe a better delegator and Motivator then a Micromanager with a expertise in 1 side of the ball.. Hopefully he thrives with letting his coordinator coach and have more trust in his staff experience..

I choose to be optimistic about the offense Atleast being able to thrive under consistent and experienceand  play calling with 2nd half adjustments and better game plans.. Also being way more adaptable to situational football...

I choose to believe that while we might take a step back on pass rush .. Wilkes and the secondary will be a strength and carry the defense as a whole.. Also that the run defense will be better with Pasqulonie technic training and old school coaching style for the Dline and front 7.. So we might take a step back but I don't think we'll fall out of the top 10.. Especially with consistent offensive play..

Overall I choose to be optimistic until proven wrong.. Then I'll be back to fire everybody and start over mode..

I don't think the pass rush has to take a step back. With a better secondary I expect more coverage sacks.

So Rhules main in game responsibilities are who starts and clock/time out management? At least as far as criticism going forward for you

I wouldn't give him who starts or not. Coordinators determine rotation and who plays. Matt just announces it. He is a rah rah guy who won't calls plays and does control timeouts and challenges and whether we go on fourth down or not. He has input but if he is smart he will defer to the football guys in the room. And if he doesn't he may be sent to the office to speak with Fitterer or Tepper.

Rhule got to choose his staff and the first thing I said was he messed up not bringing in NFL experience. He's done that this year but I'm still sceptical if it really matters at this point. We still have a college DC and the roster isn't the best if we have injuries. I guess we will see.

I mean, you can find tons of old post where I clearly said I had no problem with Brady being fired and more specifically how he should of never been hired.  That a Joe Brady experiment only would have been a worthy gamble for a very specifically built org.

I just include Rhule in the conversation.  And you can’t handle that.

LG is smart enough to know my post calling him a Rhule lover wasn’t serious.  It was a joke/nonsense post because clearly saying both sucked and were part of the problem is a fair thing to say.

I’m genuinely curious: is it acceptable for me or anyone else to simply post something like “Joe Brady was really bad”? Or does it always have to be caveated with “…oh but also Matt Rhule sucks and btw he is the one who hired Joe Brady and that was really dumb!!”. I’m still unclear on why your insistence to lump Matt Rhule in with every Joe Brady criticism is unique to Joe Brady when Rhule is responsible for the entire coaching staff and roster.

Why do you include Rhule in every conversation about Brady but not in every conversation about Darnold, Teddy, our “bottom third coaching staff”,  our poor o-line, Robby Anderson’s contract, how bad Elflein is, Chuba’s stone hands, etc. Rhule is ultimately responsible for all of those things, but somehow you are able to entertain (and even contribute) isolated criticisms of each one of these without lumping in Rhule every time. No, you reserve that uniquely for Brady. So playing dumb about not having a Brady Boner is pretty silly. Or is it that you only have room to  nestle one person in your bosom?

They could have hired an old experienced OC and had Brady be passing game coordinator and still pay him a ton and actually learn the OC job. But always with the big splash that turns into the big belly flop.

Rhule had actually stated before the hiring started that he wanted to find some experienced people, including possibly some former head coaches.

Instead, it worked out that he pretty much brought most of his Baylor staff with him.

I thought it was the Giant's? Either way I agree.

Rhule was way in over his head as a first year nfl head coach, on top of that he was given full control. What could possibly go wrong?

The Jets are the team he had turned down a few years before because they wanted to dictate one of his coaching staff hires, specifically Gregg Williams as the DC. Everybody now knows there's no way that was gonna be anybody but Phil Snow.

The thing with the Giants was that once we made our contract offer, he took it to them to see if they'd match it.

They would not, and thus...

It was worst in the league with Brady..

I don't understand why ppl can't see how bad it was...

TEAMS WERE LITERALLY RUNNING OUR ROUTES IN THE PASSING GAME!!

He ran the same play 5+ times a game even when it didn't work 4 other times..

Not it wasn’t, we ranked around 20th averaging around 19 ppg, when we fired Brady we averaged 13 ppg that would be worse than the jags for 32nd

It was Tepper!!!  Anything bad is always someone else’s fault.  Rhule didn’t do it! Were you one of the guys pretending Joe Brady was the GM and he was the one who actually wanted Sam Darnold? lol.

He didn’t interview McAdoo for OC.  He interviewed him twice for QB coach.  And Rhule wouldn’t hire McAdoo.

McAdoo didn't interview for OC that year. Brady had already gotten the job.

Ben McAdoo was one of three guys who we were initially looking at for QB coach, the other two being Scott Linehan and Mike McCoy.

Not sure how many remember, but we ultimately with with Jake Peetz. Sean Ryan didn't come aboard until the following season after Peetz left for a college job.

(pretty sure McAdoo interviewed for the QB coach role that year too)

Rhule should have been fired. Rhule should never have been hired. He should never have been given complete control of a pro team having no pro experience.

Tepper botched this whole thing from the beginning.

They're both around and I'm tired of losing. I hope they've learned. I have my doubts, though.

We'll find out this year. I'm not getting my hopes up but I am at least interested in watching which is an upgrade from how I felt heading into the offseason where I had no interest in watching this team anymore, at least as long as Rhule was coach.

Pretty much...

    • I want to throw in how much easier it is for a QB to develop and improve with a good oline.  Huge credit to the front office for spending the money on our two guards.  Cade Mays also had a 2nd really good game starting at center.  Love how he has developed and hope he's the real deal. Look at what Stroud is dealing with now in Houston after injuries and problems with their oline.  Strouds accuracy has been greatly affected as it seems like he doesn't trust his protection. Canales is doing a great job developing Bryce.  I think the QB whisperer might be for real. And obviously big props to Bryce.  First round pick that looks horrible in his first year.  Different coaches and systems.  Fans and media are calling him the biggest bust in NFL history and he looked like it in the first two games this year.  Gets benched.  Young man keep his cool and just continued to work and only worry about what he can control.  I hope things continue like this and we end up with a great success story. Bryce Young kept pounding.
    • Outside of Philly (who currently is #3 in pass defense) the rest of our remaining opponents are bottom 1/3 of the League in that regard.  Let's see what Bryce can do versus bad pass Ds.
