I'm also noticing Rhule is the name brought up most when Oline decision happen and not James Campen "the Oline Coach".. Who most here like and was highly respected around the league..

Why is that?? Its clear Campen is making the Oline decision now...

Good question.

Feel like I’m the only person who doesn’t hate how this was handled. 99% of his reps were at LT all camp and he was named the starter before preseason week 2. I don’t think it was the worst thing in the world to not just give it to him right of the bat. Yeah we all knew he’d be the LT but doesn’t hurt to at least act like there is some sort of earning that had to be done for a rookie.

Rhule has a lot of head scratchers but this seems pretty normal to me

All I'm really upset about is how long we took to evaluate BC. He hasn't looked bad at LT and it may not have been as pressing a need if we had done due diligence. Nothing against Icky at all, I thing he's going to be a phenomenal lineman for us. I just think the situation could have been handled better.

My thoughts too…we obviously need the starters to do well and stay healthy but we do have a itty bit of depth along the OL which is weird around here

I saw a unicorn earlier today too so there is that

That was the whole point in putting people at different  positions so you can see what substitutions work best when folks miss time which is inevitable. To build familiarity for players and for coaches to see who works best with whom.

While I think most complaints about Rhule at this point are just dislike of him, pretty much all coaches and linemen talk about how important it is for linemen to gel working with each other. Almost everyone who defends the move says some form of what you said, "yeah we all knew he would start but the competition doesn't hurt". Well giving him more reps working with the other starting linemen doesn't hurt either and would actually be helpful. A competition between guys to actually see who is better is great, a fake competition if you already know who is going to start is stupid.

C- Bozeman, Elfien

G - Corbitt, BC, Mays, Daley

T- Moton, Icky, BC (swing), Erving.

That's my 9 olinemen.

Starting lineup

Icky, BC, Bozeman, Corbitt, Moton

BC is backup swing tackle

Mays and Daley backup guards, teach Mays center

Daley backup somewhere but expendable.

Jordan has no place at guard much less running with the 1s.

Insane that it took this long for Rhule to announce what was a foregone conclusion. If you had actually wanted Brady to compete at LT you should have played him there LAST SEASON when we didn't have a LT. Now you've hampered Brady's growth at not only LT but at LG where he projects better as a pro

Ickey will end up as a pro bowl guard. As LT he won't break into the top 20 LTs in the NFL. He doesn't have what it takes to shut down the speed rushers consistently in the NFL.

this is some wild speculation
