Rhule needs to read this and figure out a plan

How is it that Willis, the biggest project in the draft coming from a gimmick college system has worked himself from 3rd string to 2nd?   Now are you guys really saying MC is a bigger project then willis?

its like magic, the more the give Willis the better he is getting.  Amazing how that works

Just like with pickett, both had some bad weeks in training camp but the team had a plan to get them up to speed.  I cannot say the same thing for dumb dumb rhule

Thought Pickett  like Jones last year were considered the most pro ready while Corral was considered a project. Apples and oranges

If he is the backup as you advocate then any injury to the starter makes him the starter.

No one with brain cells is even advocating for Corral to be the backup…

The point is, the QB1 competition should have been long over (along with the OL competition). Dragging it out this long makes the team look inept and is not helping the players in the slightest.

The first game should have gone very similar to the way the Titans handled their reps. Corral gets a lot of reps early and then the backup (Darnold or Walker) comes in during the third or fourth quarter.

The next game, QB1 comes in and plays the entire first half with the first team OL, the backup (wether it be Darnold or Walker) then comes in and plays the third and Corral comes in and plays the fourth.

The final game, the backup (Darnold or Walker) plays the first half and Corral plays the second half…

This isn’t some sort of rocket science and it’s also not some sort of plot to make Corral QB1. It’s about maximizing reps for everyone in a short period of time.

Instead, we are going into game two with our thumb up our asses and no idea who the starting QB, backup QB, or the starting OL is.. meanwhile, your HC is out here spewing stupid poo like, you only get better with reps but you have to produce with the reps you are given (which is a contradictory statement and impossible if you are looking at a rookie QB who is starting from ground zero).

Seems we have covered this already. You need 2 guys who can start in this league since both Baker and Sam missed games last year. And Corral is getting what he can handle. You need to be on the sidelines until you know what to do when you get on the field. The hype was great physicals but didn't operate in a prostyle offense.. They are doing him a favor bringing him along slowly.

Baker is the starter. Sam is the backup.  That’s your two.

what spot is PJ realistically competing for?

Corral is getting the reps Rhule is willing to give him because of the mess ahead of him.

Name a 3rd round pick in recent history that walked into being an immediate 4th stringer with no reps in training camp. But I guess your argument is most likely to be fired Rhule has a better master plan than everyone else for how to do things.  Or maybe that Corral shouldn’t of been a 3rd round pick and was over drafted.

QB MATT CORRAL

On what he will takeaway from his first NFL game:

"We just had to have better communication. Regardless of who's out there, we always say we want to play completely clear and concise with complete communication. We were all over the place out there."

This just screams that we have a rookie QB that’s not being developed properly. Corral should have been put in positions in practice to work on communication, instead he was getting three reps a day.

If you can’t manage a QB competition and a QB’s development at the same time then you don’t need to be an NFL head coach, plain and simple.

You are another one who doesn't get it. Baker and Darnold are getting starter reps because they are going to be QB1 and QB2 and we need 2 starters since they both have injury histories. And Corral is a project who isn't the focus with Rhule's focus on winning now. Seems obvious.

Who follows the reps that a third stringer gets? Who cares if he sits on the bench what happens. Again why all the focus in a project. Did Greer generate pages of back and forth??

grier sucked but at least he was given a chance.  Multiple chances in fact.  We didnt draft him and then ship his ass to the 4rth string
