panthers are 35 million in the red next year with only Carrol at QB......thats without paying draft picks as well. Panthers need to come up with 50 million in space along with filling out the QB/roster.....

Love to have Smith, but he wants to re-set the MLB market and in fact he should. Panthers cannot afford his services.

You're not gonna give up all that for an offball LBer that wants MARKET RESETTING money.

Y'all really be on some poo, wanting to trade Robbie and Sam bahahahaha ok yea who's taking on 18.8M....

It's also why Jimmy is out there, team that trades has to pay almost 23M for ONE season. Teams know they have to release him as he only has 3M in guarantees.

People should consider a little more thought when projecting trades.

So, we are already seeing how poorly the Panthers addressed the team in the offseason and draft.

I wasn't expecting things to surface this early. I thought week 4 would be the point we saw how bad the Panthers actually did compared to the rest of the league and what was available to them.

It's threads like these that remind me just how amazing this franchise has been BLESSED with RICHES at the linebacker department. Really, an embarrassment of riches. So much so, that our fan base doesn't know how to react with were not representing the best in the league.

The reality is we are good at linebacker.  We won't be like what we're use to, but we have a good, talented group that can play, and make plays.

And to think most of you didn't even want Shaq on the team.

Throughout his career, Rashad Higgins has never proved to be anything more than a WR4. And now you magically think he's going to be a WR2? TMJ hasn't proven anything yet, not even the ability to stay on the field. Do you really want to risk D.J. being doubled and maybe even tripled into ineffectiveness? We have some good talent in our receiving room--not necessarily to include the TEs--but it is largely unproven without the presence of Anderson. I'd rather take my chances with the underrated LB group than mess around with a skill group position. Unlike what you've heard on the Huddle all offseason, Robbie is important (if not a key) to the success of this offense...at least until TMJ or someone else breaks out this season.

I saw Roquan requested a trade and wondered to myself what it would take to grab him.

He's a second team all-pro on a one year deal and looking to cash in.

If we had a 3rd I'd couple that with Robbie for him.

Don't know if I'd part with a 1st or even 2nd since he is only a one year rental potentially.

I don't think it's in the cards to get him.

Darnold literally has negative trade value. You can't include him in a trade as an asset.

Unless we eat 3/4 of his salary I agree. Even then, he's not a NFL starter in most peoples (not just huddlers) opinion.

To a lesser extent, the same could be said about Robbie. His contract is a lot higher than the talent he's shown. Even if last tear was a fluke, his ceiling is WR2, and he's on the books for $11M this year and $10 in dead cap next season.

I would give a 2nd and 5th for Roquan Smith in a heart beat. I went back and watched some games from 2012 to 2018 and God damn could that defense fly to the ball and HIT. Kuechly's athleticism was so underrated by all that it's not even funny. His change of direction, Lateral speed, short area burst, and quickness are something I haven't seen in a long time.

Then if we could go out next year and draft a guy similar to Thomas Davis, hot damn. We didn't realize what we had at the time. Hell, even with TD, Luke, ans Jon Beason we didn't know. Those are three Hall of Fame talents. I feel like Kuechly is the only near term HOFer there but Davis may get in one day. He was a menace.

Who is Carrol?

The Rams will trade for him somehow.

This sums it up well, Morgan >> Beason >> Davis >> Kuechly -- heck of a last 10+ years'ish

Shaq - 100+ tackles in 22'

Wilson - 100+ tackles in 22'

Luvu - Had one of the better TFL totals on our team in limited snaps

Wooten - Former pro-bowler iirc with LAR, picked off Cam in the season opener vs LA back in 2019

______________________________________________

With Woods, Chinn will ''likely'' see more time in the box, not as a LB'er but as a true box safety to take advantage of his run support, and cover ability on TE's.

Then we added Brandon Smith, an athletic profile freak with the prototype size to match, Barno who will spend more time on the edge also increases the overall athleticism of the defense.

We may not have that ''one'' guy like we are accustomed to, but the depth / position group talent is in relatively good shape.
