Bad year to have a Bad year: A no win situation for Fox

Been saying for a while that Fox will not drop Jake until we are mathematically eliminated from the playoffs. It's too bad if Moore gets to play that he'll be playing with a deflated team and not one playing with fire and passion.

Right....As opposed to the team full of fire and passion we have had this season right?

When Fox was out on the field high 5'n the players cuz they made the Jests have to punt in a game that was over. I knew then he was only doing that cuz he is about to lose the team and he knows it.

I saw that too and thought the man had lost his mind. It's not peewee football out there, Foxy.

Titans have now won their 5th straight

Smh at Richardson letting this to continue. We're not going to the playoffs, Fox contract is up next year, Jake is factually a bench QB now. So wont you just be a boss and pull the plug now. Make a change and spark some new energy atleast

If I was the owner, I would follow Bud Adams example and insist Fox give Moore a start.

If I was the owner, I would follow Bud Adams example and flip out Fox :D

I agree whole-heartedly with the OP, I seriously doubt John Fox will sit Delhomme though. If Matt Moore comes out and plays well, not only does it make him look bad, but it ruins any chance of him being a head couch again since it would show that he doesn't know how to evaluate talent as well as his other obvious faults.

Why the hell would we get rid of our DC? We had a terrible defense last year, and this year it has become one of the best in the league.

Usually when you bring in a coach...they like to bring in a lot of coordinators they are comfortable working with. 4-3 zone defenses are not as sexy as they once were.

As we all know John Fox is the King of "perceived emotional indifference."

He tries to show emotional restraint by maintaining his gum chomping, golf clapping, I don't worry attitude that drives most of Carolina fans insane when things just need more urgency.

Today I saw a different man.

I saw a coach that knows his firm loyalty to Delhomme may have just cost Foxie another contract with the Panthers. Fox's time may just be done.

With the first two picks in the game John Fox was red-faced, fuming and spitting mad at the poor decisions that were made by his lost veteran QB. He was seemingly more than willing at half-time to make a change. As always....he did not.

Now Coach Fox is faced with making a decision the rational-fan and sports community thought should have been made much earlier in this putrid season: Making a QB change to... Matt Moore?(maybe?). I think it will happen this week

However no matter how the QB2 will do, be it Matt or AJ, Fox has now positioned himself in an outcome that can only fail....in terms of his continued tenure in Charlotte.

If Matt Moore(QB2) fails and is just miserable: Fox loses....of course

If Matt Moore is the breakout player of 2009 and the Panthers play better than .500: Fox loses even more!!!! This would magnify John Fox's shortcomings with player loyalty and failure to identify talent and adjust earlier. So even an undefeated rest of the season would jeopardize Fox's job in my opinion.

Simply put Panther Fans...Fox is done!! He got angry wayyy too late.

I think you can look at it in a different perspective.;

If Fox puts in Moore and he fails. That shows Fox was right in his judge of talent and in keeping Delhomme in all this time. Fox hands (while in the season) were tied after Mccown went down. And you can't blame him if moore really sucks. Becuase really there are very few third string QB's out there that will perform even average for an extended time.

If Moore is a breakout. Then you could argue (all thought it would be harder), that yet agian Fox and his staff managed to raise and teach a undrafted qb. And have an eye for hidden talent. Also with a promising qb, there is no reason to think we wouldnt make the playoffs next year. Are team for the most part will be set.

I think the worst senario is if Moore comes in, and plays notciably better consistenly. But still not enough for starting material. This would show Fox was wrong with talent judging in this situation. And we would still be nowhere set for next year at QB.
